I am new at the game and want to skill my 700 000 sp into myrofibs. Someone in squad finder told me that it is very good and fun so I wanted to hear from the forums first
So for those who have them proto ? How are they ? Good ? Bad ?
In witch fir do you run them ?
Any response is appreciated.

No they really are not...
That is because CCP plans to redo the biotic mods and such so that they are worth running.
You know you have at least thought about cow tipping. They know, and they're out to settle the score.

I would not recommend a new player to get myrofibs. Melee is very weak in this game and you're almost always better off shooting. Melee is only really for shame kills.

Also, melee hit detection is off from what I hear.
But if you are going to do it, do it on a Commando.
You can always tell a Millford Minja

Also, some general advice for a n00b. Join a good corporation, always play in a squad when you can, and pick a specialized role instead of trying to do a bunch of different things.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sending you 5 million ISK...no wait.
This feels trolly but I'll bite.
Someone in squad finder doesn't have your best interests at heart. If you are new put that SP anywhere else other than a melee enhancer. Think core skills or even a rifle.
But I would love to hear posts from those that have them at proto. I'll get the popcorn ready

@Eruditus 920 Thank's a lot for your generosity ! I have a hard time making money :( . I go like 3/15 in domination game mode because everyone is very good . I wish I was very good like that but I am sure that If I stay I will make new friends and enjoy the game. Don't worry I am sure I'll get good at the myrofibs ( eventually - I can't even get more than 5 kills). And once again thanks for the isk , it will help me alot to buy the circle with the book before the number pops up. ( 1,2,3,4,5)

Well they are actually really good but I wouldn't bother skilling into them at this point. Sp would be much better spent in other areas. CPU and PG upgrades, shields and armor.
Ps I have them :)
What happened to the repair tool glow?

While the stimulants are exceptionally fun, I wouldn't recommend them if you're new at the game. They're generally only useful on a proto suit, and you have to build your suit around them to really make them effective. Just putting one or even two on won't generally get you enough of a boost to make proper use of them. I'd say save your SP for a bit and see what happens, maybe CCP will give them a rework so that you don't have to put three or four on a suit just to make them effective.
Nova Knives are best sidearm.

Myofibs are fun, yeah, but as others have said, they're not really recommended for newish players to skill into.

What?! Back in my day, we used to have honorable duels of melee only. When we saw someone run at us with a Nova Knife, we'd whip our own out and engage in a knife fight. Of course, winner almost always got molested by the people gathering around. ('Twas good fun.)

I run a melee Min scout more often than any other fit. & it is my favorite fit by far.
BUT!!!, unless you have your Core & Ewar skills maxed out. As well as a proto level dropsuit(Min scout can run Adv. but you still need the skill for cloak fitting). You'll be dead before you even get close. If your new, focus on Core skills, 1 favorite dropsuit & 1-2 favorite weapon(s). & only after, should you experiment with your SP. |
