Just seeing if there is any support from what remains of the close followers of this project.
Moving the game away from a Quakeish FPS to a third person shooter with a cover system. I know that's kind of controversial issue and god knows the Devs probably won't buy into it but hey why not.
CPM Has this idea ever been thrown around?

I sure hope that does NOT happen...That would KILL the game for me. But, to attract more players, maybe the option of switching between FPS and TPS. But pure TPS, better not be. |

Third Person perspective doesn't make me feel immersed enough into the game. I have tried both TPS and FPS and so far I prefer the FPS format. It feels more realistic because you're viewing the battlefield from the eyes of the character rather than some imaginary invisible camera following you around. It's more immersive as everything is in your face (literally).
My biggest gripe with the TPS format is that it allows players to look around corners without really exposing anything, not even their weapons. I would be ok with introducing personal drones like the ones we've seen in the old trailers for Dust so we be able to look around corners because at least the drones are a part of the merc being exposed to potential gunfire.

A valid point and I agree a FPS is much more immersive. However I feel making the game mechanics favor using cover over the strafing dust bunny shuffle that is going on now. I wouldnt mind getting rid of the third person view in vehicles though.
Real men drive in first person.

I would be fine with Third Person View when on station or in bars socializing or something, but I want Legion to have FPS combat. If we have Third Person View for social environments, it should switch to First Person View the moment you draw your weapon.

I need to know how far off level I am and in which direction if I am going to fly down a streets or pick drop people on ledges in my Dropship.

I'd love to have the option to switch to TPS. Just because I like to marvel at the sweet new Suits I just unlocked. There is the merc quarters atm, but to see my sweet ass in action too would be better.
The answer to your complaint is PvE. Always.

LOL you got it Maken Tosch, I still walk around my PSN Home with my drone following me when I actually load it up and it seems to me like it would be a useful addition to the game to be able to do that like in BF3 with the MTAC recon drone. It could even be combat viable without needing to be in the direct front line of the battle and able to get into tight corners to take out entrenched hard targets without losing squad after squad to a meat grinder while only having minimal HP to make it a tactical choice over a primary one and leaving your personage unprotected whilst operating it.
How long til this hits PC?

It would really be nice to be able to use a personal drone. We know CCP already has the model ready due to the trailers and PSHome. But I often wonder if they are even going to make them as personal drones in Legion.

How expansive, thank you for your constructive contribution. Perhaps you would grace us with an articulation as to why you would not like that? Is it a personal preference? Or perhaps you have some reason as to why it would not work.
Have no fear it is highly unlikely they would change the system that much.
