Militia Combat Rifle: Meta level 0 Boundless Combat Rifle: Meta level 7
And sure enough, every militia equipment item, module, dropsuit and weapon has a meta level of 0. Prototype versions have a meta level of 7, so the conclusion drawn is that meta level is a guide to what should be used with what.
Standard gear has a meta level of 1, with variants such as the breach versions or burst have a meta level of 2(I'm sure). So CCP, is this what meta level means?? And why not give us bonuses if everything on the suit has the same meta level!!
Hotfix echo....meta level bonuses....PLEASE

You have to make all your suits add up to 42 meta. If you do this with AUR gear and kb/m you are invincible.

Meta level effects how much isk you will gain at the end of a battle.
If you use meta 1 you get low isk, if you use higher meta level you get more isk and have guaranteed chance to possibly get officer loot.
Meta level 8 or higher gives you + 73.45% isk and 1000 aurum per battle.

There's been several instances where I was running MLT/STD gear, but have a higher payout than my squadmates who were running PRO gear.

Yes, it's been confirmed.
But this is CCP we're talking about, you can't expect the formula to work 100% of the time.
Once I was running all Proto, went 69/0 and only got a measly payout of 7 ISK. Other times I'll run MLT gear and play chicken with the ground all match jumping from the MCC, go 0/87 and get like 11 Billion ISK, 420 Thales, and $150 of PSN credit.
It's garbage that CCP can't get their crap together.

Meta level is simply a rough indicator of how good an item is. It does nothing beyond that.

I re-read this and saw the 1000 AUR per battle and realized that your were trolling. GG
I don't know for sure but, the meta level has nothing to do with it. Maybe you might get a a slight bonus but, as far as I have observe it doesn't seem to affect payout at all. If you want a higher payout then you need to make more war points. The higher you end up on the list at the end of battle the beter your pay out. There seem to be some multipliers or limits. If for example you get above 1,000 war points your pay out seem substantially higher than if you where at 900WP. Every 1,000 points seem to give you a whole lot more isk. Again, it "SEEMS" this way to me. So, logis get a lot of cash but, because you are weak and your suit is so expensive and you die more often than not then it kind of balances out. |

Meta is more of a jedi power power curve, things that are meta 8 are about equal in power to each other.
This is similar to mana costs in magic the gathering. 1 Red Mana Creatures are generally all equal to each other while met 2 red mana creatures have more offerings and flexibility in what they use those 2 red mana on.
Other than that, its arbitrary.

Haha, yea I was joking around.
However on a serious note, aside from the meta level - I do recall CCP saying about value of stuff destroyed vs value lost having an impact.
I have had games where I have made a lot more using my blueprint gear where I got lucky and managed to kill a lot of enemy proto. I think the value that you lose has an impact as well as how much you kill possibly? (Not trolling)
Also /rumours in game say that using and losing officer gear gives more chance to loot officer gear though I am pretty sure that one is made up.

Meta level bonuses is a CCP staple in the Eve universe that is meant as a reflection of an items quality in relation to others of the same type (meaning the meta level of an AR is compared between the militia and Duvolle, but the militia AR is not compared to the meta of an active scanner, for example). As this is based on performance, it i does not effect performance.

I suck at it. Neighbor won against 8 of us with that palacron and memory jar. These new immortal mobs are getting difficult to deal with at low order play. and oh gawd those mirs are worse than the slivers.
