The thing about the bolt pistol is its got the same balance issues as scrambler rifles/sniper rifles, it is very effective against low tank suits and people who have to use the starter suits.

In addition to this it makes a poor sidearm. Generally with a sidearm you want to whip it out after your light weapon runs out of bullets to finish the enemy off, which is usually in CQC. Constrast that with smg, ion pistol, scrambler, etc which can be spammed immediately and much more liberally in CQC and do comparable damage over time, and you have a comparatively poor sidearm in the bolt pistol.

Its also worse than every light weapon in the game, outranging only the shotgun and outdpsing none of them.

So yeah, nerf the thing if you want, since after the sidearm event its probably not going to be used too much anyway. The only situation I can see it being good in is for a sniper or swarm fit sidearm where it has to do double duty as a scrubby light weapon for people who havent got a choice.

So is never shooting and strapping yourself to the back on the closest whale like a leech and siphoning money off of him. In other words, skill in DUST is relative and that's not what we're here to talk about, the pocket sniper rifle is. Side note, I got mlt knifed by you a few days ago, 2 or 3 times. Considering how rare it is for me to get knifed, gg. Mark a$$ tricks, and bags of dicks....

The biggest difference between the bolt and the breach SCP is the sights. The iron sights on the breach suck ass and they make headshots very difficult past 10m. The bolt pistol on the other hand has a ridiculously easy mode sight. I can get had shoots with that thing at 50m while I am reading the forums and petting my cat. Gun control is not about guns...it's about control. The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

It wasnt the best because it was buggy and the hd sucked and the rof was a bit slow and fittings were high but all that needs to be done is revert the damage and ammo and clip size back to its old state but keep the other changes. I say 160 militia 170 std 190 adv 210 proto If your gonna nerf it and keep the clip size and ammo the same. Yes I have a sidearm fit too when I want to screw around that also uses bolt pistol with nova knives, and I also have had that fit since well before the hotfix, and I also did fine with it, that doesnt mean much. Almost no one used the bolt pistol before the hotfix, and I think after the sidearm event bolt pistol usage will die down quite a bit for the reasons I stated it my post. Here they are again: The bolt pistol makes a poor sidearm and a poor light weapon. Its making a ton of people butthurt in the sidearm event because it has the longest range and highest damage per shot of any sidearm, but that doesnt actually make it good in normal play, it just makes it good against suits with crappy tank or suits also using sidearms only. When I run my minmatar assault suit with one basic plate and two enhanced shield extenders as its only tank modules, I stop dying to bolt pistols almost entirely. Its not really more dangerous than any other sidearm and its certainly not better than any light weapon. People are just getting super pissed about it because of the sidearm event. And again regardless of wether they nerf it or not, Ill only be using it on a single suit, the aforementioned sidearm **** around suit. Sidearm of choice is still the SMG, because it works the best of all the sidearms AS A SIDEARM. Close second/third goes to flaylock and probably ion pistol (I say probably because I dont have it skilled), and then scrambler, with bolt pistol winning out against the nova knives as the two crappiest sidearms. Thats my stupid opinion about the bolt pistol.
