But I'm really upset that I was running up behind a gal assault to nova knife him and he turns around and 1 shots me with a STD bolt pistol, then did it again and then a 3rd time :(

But it seems something always has to be OP in this game so it might as well be that goofy pistol.

Now do that again but chasing a Sentinal or Commando this time and try killing him with a militia variant. Over and Over and Over again. If that doesn't train you well enough to be a great knifer, I don't know what will.
I've noticed that the vast majority of my militia knife kills were heavies. I'm not sure it's because there is a lot of them or because they have so much mass that they're exerting a gravitational pull on my scout suit.

Were you not dampened enough for him to not see you? Or did he just luck out on checking his back? If it is the latter, that is a good assault.

It's very likely he heard the noise of two knives charging up just before the attack. If the knifer was decloaking just before the attack, that would've made some noise as well.

Any technic, idea or equipment advice? I'm actually doing this event with the ZN-28 Nove Knife in a Advanced Caldari Scout and 2 Dampeners (i don't have kinetics) and 2 Precision (to see other scouts, they are the easier to kill),1 Damage mod. I try to kill them with a charge if don't i use a Magsec SMG |

With ZNs on a Cal, stick to medium and light frames, unless you are finishing off a heavy that was already damaged.
Use the Raptor Jump to chase someone down from behind, sprint, jump, charge mid air, and release on landing.

I don't know what's the proper fit for a Caldari scout as I don't have any SP invested in those. But so far your setup looks good on paper at least.

I'd go with there are a lot of them lol.. I've been killing many of them but dealing with the problem at hand doesn't make you a better knifer you just know when not to be an idiot XD |

I don't always bring my scout mk.0 with a six kin and knives , but when I do , I use the knives instead of the ACR :/.
Never play idiot versus and idiot . He will beat you with his experience ( aim-assist).
I would have pulled my mythological scout gk.0 with a shotgun. Yes I rarely use it against annoying scrubs.

Bolt pistols are a great answer to those who wish to make scouts slayer suits. Ohk knives, ohk shottys, ohk plasma cannons, and now Bolt Pistols.

You know when something is clearly op because people flood to use it, and right now there are a flood of people using it.
"Oh but there is the sidearm event" I hear you say... - you dont see people flooding to use any of the other sidearms right? Specifically not so much the flaylock, magsec etc...
That being said, I think it does offer something new to watch out for and something new for the players, so I dont want to see it get nerfed too hard. I still feel it does too much damage however.

I'd say keep the new range (it's finally fixed!)
Perhaps decrease damage per shot, but increase weapon rounds. One can still kill in a clip, but only if all shots land consistently (on a full hP opponent), or if that opponent is already weakened (the strong point of sidearms).
Give the Magsex some love.

Most nova knifers, realistically, have predictable patterns, even musturd. Success rather depends on execution.

i was in a match yesterday , and by the animation i witnessed it was one shot. i look at the kill ticket , bolt pistol, just over 1000 dmg. ? can we strap these things on tanks small blaster turrents got to go. |
