I have experienced this 3 times now and the timing is too coincidental to write off.
The most recent went like this:
I put a SG blast to back of Heavy, second blast, and the split second before the kill shot I suddenly find myself 40 meters away facing a wall.
There was no other slowdown or frame rate hiccups at any other time in the battle.
The other two times I have experienced this were similar situations were my opponent was about to die and then magic occurs. Again, no other frame rate problems the entire battle except for just before before the kill.
The timing of this seems too coincidental. Do others ever experience this?
Is it just bad luck? Is it possible to cheat like this in DUST?
Not crying, though it is very frustrating, just curious.

Were you in a squad? & if so pay attention to your ping to the squad next time(squad finder).
When I join a squad with a bad ping rating, I will lag like crazy the entire match. When I play solo, NP. Unfortunately for me many of my Corp mates are overseas. |

Course it works! It'll stop sending informations to the server so your character will start teleporting/lagging for every other players but not for you!
It'll make everybody lags if you were the host of a server but it doesn't work the same way on dedicated ones.
Sorry for my bad english ^^

This^
You can still pull that BS off even on designated servers. if your a host than its very easily noticed as everyone starts skipping/warping.
However,
On a designated servers you are cutting out only your character information stream so everyone plays fine but when you lag switch, that character data stream stops....so imagine
You shoot at a guy.. guy pulls lag switch the guy you shoot at seemingly takes no damage or disappears that's because the server won't recognize that the character is being shot at so no hit registrations(or not all at the least) guy reconnects before his session terminates(won't disconnect) his character resumes data stream---->his character seems to 'warp' to his new location as the server 'updates'
of course the guy shoots you in the back and kills you afterward leaving you dumfounded depending how the switch is set...they can limit incoming or outgoing data..so they can get information (know where you are and register hits) but limit yours(he won't be accurately registered, you may see his character but the server see them elsewhere)
The effect is even worse if the guy does this face to face because you guys can be in straight-up strafing battle...guess who won't seem to take hits..Even if the dis-connection is intermittent, anyone who has played FPS know that 0.1s or 0.2s can make all the difference between winning and losing
A same or similar effect with long distance connections..perhaps not because of foul play but simply we have no control of how, where, and when data gets to the server..thus you have these odd occurrences in battle where things seem 'laggy'..its all about upload speeds when it comes to dedicated servers. and the network quality between you and the server...that is why you always want to play servers as close to you as possible for the best gameplay experience or at least a 'fair' gameplay experience.
