Fixing Aim:
Its really, really easy to do. All you do is make it an acceleration versus a velocity, and you are set. What I mean by this is make it so that when you input a directional value, the aim doesn't instantly hit max velocity of movement across the screen, but instead starts from a value of 0 and continuously (but rapidly) increases in velocity until it hits max velocity. The time to reach max velocity would be constant regardless of settings, but acceleration and max velocity would be changeable by the aiming preference settings.
*All this is talking about the movement of your aiming reticle, or in better terms, the movement of your surroundings relative to the fixed point rotation that occurs when you aim
Fixing Strafe:
Same concept as above. However, the acceleration constant values should be determined by the suit type, with minmitar scouts being the fastest accelerating, and amarr heavies being the slowest accelerating. While I think testing would be necessary for the exact numbers, the current strafe reduction should be removed if this fix does occur.
Also, if you change directions, for aiming AT LEAST velocity should be set to 0 versus negative velocity relative to the attempted movement instantly when a directional change is called for, so that it doesn't feel very clunky.
The aim acceleration time constant should be very short.
Thanks for reading this, if you need suggestions on how to code this for legion, Id be more than happy to help

Aim Acceleration is how it is now. It's dumb as **** and makes precision aiming a pain in the ass, major reason you use the left analogue for better control than following someone with the right.
So very tired

Well the way AA works now is it starts you off at an initial velocity above 0 then accelerates if you push hard enough in the right

Just make a mass x momentum figure. That way scouts wouldn't be able to instand direction shift and we can all laugh at sentinel turtles trying to be agile.
But it shouldn't be applied directly to forward/backward momentum. It's the strafing that is allowing players to bypass hit detection.
It's the bypassing hit detection that is creating the problem.
It can be corrected with strafe inertia. Running forward and backing up is working as intended. |

Even for a video game I find it funny that moving left to right rapidly while shooting is a viable technique. In real life this would not fly shooting accurately involves being stationary. And aim assist is a crutch for bad players. I can always tell when people have aim assist on. |

I'm guessing that everyone that kills you has aim assist on? That's the only way they could kill you, right? Such scrubs, huh? |
