I feel that the game has become overrun by scouts with their damned Nova Knives and Bolt Pistols (Shotguns too, but not as much, I dont guess). I've been thinking about setting up an Anti-Scout suit for awhile now, but didn't know what I should throw on it. I had heard Gallente assault was a good suit (for the armor, I suppose) with a Breach Assault Rifle (dunno why that particular AR). Anybody else have any suggestions? |

Scout Ck.0
3 CPX Precision Amplifiers 1 CPX Sidearm Damage Mod
2 CPX Profile Dampners
1 Bolt Pistol (doesn't matter what tier) 1 Ion Pistol (shields and quick shooting; best tier you can use)
1 Flux Grenade
1 Ishukone Cloak 1 Remote Explosive
Assuming you're able to fit all of this, you're probably going to have to compromise (hopefully not the modules)
Scouts won't be able to see you, and you'll be able to see most. You can trade the damage mod for an extra precision, but I prefer damage mods. |

I'm in the process of skilling into this role myself. My plan is Amarr scout with an assault rifle, with precision enhancers and range extenders. This fit would require you to stick close by to your squadmates since you'll be fairly squishy. I'm thinking the AR is a good choice because it should work well in the ranges where your passive scans are effective, and it has a pretty balanced damage profile which makes it ideal for killing Caldari scouts as well as the rest. The ScR's overheat makes it less ideal for fast strafing/cloaked targets in mid-to-short range (like 10-30m).
The other option is the GalLogi with high-end active scanners.
Best PvE idea ever!

a shame about this is you are using 3 high slots to still not be able to see any scout that has 3 damps (or 2 for gal), rending you completely useless to standard fits that arnt brick tanks

I feel the exact opposite! I swear by my BK-42, but the range sucks, I think. I love that thing as if were my kid. I think the Rail Rifle is better for distance than the Combat Rifle though. Lot more powerful too. I just dont like the fact that it has the delay after I pull the trigger. |

Yes it maybe a scout, but it could be a different race. OR it could be a scout running different mods to pick up the dampened scouts. or Dampening themselves more to stay under radar. That is a counter measure. OR run a Gall logi which nothing is going to get under I believe. |

If you want anti-scout without running scout then gal logi with scanner, higher tier the better. Suggest gek or mass driver for weapons.
If running scout, C/1 with 2 range amps, 2 precision mods. Put a rail rifle on to take advantage of the distance tacnet provides.
Beyond that, a nice surrond sound headset. I run the C/1 noted above often & there are only a couple fit options that get under my passives, but all of them make the same sounds. Footsteps, decloak sound & reloads, a players ability to manage these susually seperate the scubs from the skillful.

well only the AR since you can't fit 2 weapons on a logi suit... btw I die and or kill fellow scouts with the breach scp (or get 2 shotted by bolt pistols) and the breach AR as you mentioned is effective too together with the RRs, which is the weapon that kills me most. |

Lately, most scouts (Gallente especially) are arrogant and cocky, thinking they can't get picked up, and run without damps or with minimal damps.
Grabbing a C/1 with max Prec Enhancers and range modules proves them wrong. Couple it with an alpha weapon (Scr, Ion Pistol, Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, Bolt Pistol, or even an SMG) and you'll leave them with a burn.

Yes, I understand that, but when I play, I'm usually not pay much attention to my minimap (I mean, I am, but just enough to help me with what I'm doing) because I'm running logi, looking forward and to my sides. I'm not turning around and looking behind, and I look on the minimap after it's too late, and I'm about to have my brains blown out with a bolt pistol, or pricked with some knives. |

This is very very similar to my setup except I do not run the damps. To me hunting scouts is easier if you become visible to them and draw them in but that is just a matter of play style.
Either way L5 Amarr scout + range amp + precision mods is definitely the place to be if you want to hunt scouts. Just beware of those pesky Gal scouts that actually run ewar and can still sneak up on you.
