So, I just played my first ever game with Ion Pistols. I have absolutely 0 SP invested in the weapon so, I picked up the MLT variant and slapped two on.
This is how I did in one Domination game:
Kills - 34
Assists - 8
Deaths - 2
WP - 2345
What the balls?! I KNEW IT! All this time, you Ion Pistol users have been keeping this beastly weapon to yourselves. You constantly say that the weapon is terribad and that it's not worth using! You dirty liars!

I go blap blap blap blap x3, then charge and most just die. Against tankier suits, I just swap out to the second IP and finish them off that way. I am now a fan!

The map I was on was pretty open as well (the domination pipeline map). In all, I don't think you were lucky. I think your success was due to a combination of skill and a beastly weapon. |

Yep had a couple of standards lying around and I threw one on a couple of extra Amarr sentinel fits just for kicks. Hot damn, that bad boy puts in work! I would run outta ammo on my hmg, and just switch to the Ion. Reds rush me until I start blamming them with the IP. They they do the hop and start moonwalking.

I was on bridge map dom, pushed them back to there red line when we were about 1/4th through there shields, i will say i am impressed by the improved Ion pistol

It's really great against heavies if you're near cover. After 2 shots they're pretty easy to finish off head on. |

The Breach still wrecks with its headshot bonus.
I only enjoy the IP because it's the closest thing we have to a shield SMG. One can fire it at nearly full-auto speeds if his or her trigger fingers are fast enough. |

I used the STD IoP and BoP on my Assault with 2 Damage Modifiers.
It's hilariously strong, but honestly my CR kills much faster.

ever since its introcution I've said the ion pistol is/has been a beast. people just don't want to go to the effort to get into its optimal range. the creo ion pistol is a ,onster and its charged shot is capable of almost out right killing any medium suits in 1shot or 2.

I'm using 2 different combo on the same std min assault fit, one have BP+AScrP, the other have Flaylock + Ion.
You always have a choice against shield or armor.
Bp+Ascrp is more effective against heavies due to the high alpha, i have also proficiency 4 and 3 in each weapon, that surely helps.

Breach scr pistol is still better. I went 46/0 without damage mods or proficiency skills.
