well title explains it all really. and if they do then shouldn't it be removed? a caldari militia medium frame doesn't receive any bonus so it would make sense that a militia AR, AR, CR ect shouldn't either.

Currently yes they benefit from skills.
Were the skills to be removed they should be buffed slightly better than skill less basic modules to make up for the lack of bonus.
Goal is to preview the role ultimately. Being an isk crutch is a happy side effect currently. But anything to encourage upgrading out of militia should be considered if time allowed for it.

yeah i thought as such. i have a caldari alt with prof 5 in RR's and i been runnign the Frontline suit (with the RR bpo on it) and it was chewing through heavies. i think removing the bonus and leaving base stats as is wouldn't be too bad. they're supposed to be a kinda 'taster' version, try it to see how the mechanics work and if you like it begin to skill into it. tbh even without any skills the militia RR is a beast

yeah i know its just a basic frame but the weapons are supposed to be introductory versions too. i don't think any militia items should receive skill bonus, weapons, equipment ect until you get to the 'skilled into' version of an item. if i slap a militia rep tool on my sever logi (with proto skills) it shouldn't get the skill bonus to it, it makes militia stuff quite powerful for very little cost

At STD, your benefit comes in the form of lower CPU/PG requirements and at ADV/PRO your benefits come in the form of better overall performance.

Any item should be (reasonably) powerful when you invest into it's core skills, MLT is no exception. If someone decides to make a cost effective fitting, they shouldn't be punished for it.

Except shotguns as the insignificant performance increase means you still have to shoot the same amount of times to kill that person no matter what tier you use
And to the OP, all your passive skills still apply to your militia basic. Or you could forgo using armour, shields, biotics, cpu, engineering
Your problem is that basic frame skill is a sp sink so even though you might have proto' d it for some reason. Lvl5 of nothing still happens to be nothing |

Ha, the MLT should deteriorate over time. As in once reaching certain lifetime SP, like 7 or 10, the bonus removes. I dont think the bonus should be removed for the thought of new players trying to carve their name in this hostile universe

If they did then the militia suits would receive the bonuses just like every other militia item. I agree with Atiim, if you invest in the skill for an item you should receive the bonus from that skill for all tiers of that item. Using militia already comes with negatives as Attim pointed out the CPU & PG costs but also in the form of smaller clips and longer reload times on some weapons.

yeah i admit that if you invest in an item you should get bonus to the basic models but i don't think it needs to extend down to the MLT grade. they should be an introductory module to test if you like it, it requires no skill to use so you can buy 10, try it and if you like it then begin skilling up on it and use the STD version. since the new frontline suits appeared you now get an extremely powerful rifle BPO that with the skills applied can be as effective as an ADV weapon. and as someone said, yeah you get the passive skills applied to the suits and they can become pretty effective suits. i have my recruit bpo and its pushing between 600-700ehp. i just think militia stuff should be un-boosted and there as a taster of what you get when you take time to skill into an item
