After playing around with a few numbers, I finally found a formula for Transport WP that would make it salvageable, but also give substantially higher rewards for actions which contribute more to the team (basically more risk = more reward).
(Distance From Pickup / 2) * (location) + (Hostiles within 30m of pickup * 10)
Locations
- If it's within 50m of a Hostile Null Cannon, then location would be 1.7.
- If it's within 50m of an Allied Null Cannon in the process of being flipped, the location would be 1.6.
- If it's within 50m of a Hostile Null Cannon in the process of being flipped, the location would be 1.5.
- If it's within 50m of an Allied Null Cannon, location would be 1.4.
- Else, the location would be 1.
Hostiles Within 30m of Pickup.
This basically rewards pilots who pick up players who are surrounded, in a firefight, etc, and/or need to make a quick retreat. Keep in mind that in order for this to work, you have to fly very low to the ground, making you susceptible to AV.
For example, if there's an entire squad of enemies and you pick someone up, you get an extra +60WP when your ally is dropped at a desired location.
PS: I'll try to make a spreadsheet for these values I come home.

Props for thinking out such a variable arrangement. It's sort of built on the idea of being rewarded more for risking more,... but as a driver who just wants to be rewarded for contributing to his fellow blues' combat success, I prefer to see just the direct reward I'm getting for delivering EACH buddy to the ground somewhere and getting the notification that the player actually bumped off a Red, then another notification with another Red-kill he makes, and so on.
The reward your suggesting for "successfully delivering myself and the buddy into a danger-close area" could tempt me to deliberately kick out my pals as near to red assets as I can, rather than choose a safe (and hey, often tactically smarter) insertion zone. ...But that might be just me.
Me, I like the path CCP started on, with transport reward for the fact that "my delivery of Rodney to the fightzone directly led to the successful killing of 4 Reds in 30 seconds!" I'd like to see that scheme expanded further, even if Dust never gets to a fully stable PC evolution.
But a great scheme you made Atiim! Inventive, and necely mercenary too. A shrewd accountant-mind could blackmarket her way into "selling" how near to the danger she can get deliver you, and walking away at the top of the leaderboard.

It would be pretty epic I fly like this all the time for the fun of it..... but I do hate when my dropship is hit by a car.
