I want to hear more things like this about the CMP and CCP and how they interact. This Crossing Zebras podcast is not very long and should be listened to by everyone who has ever or will ever touch DUST514 for more than a week or so. Everything talked about in the cast is 100% correct on how it should be and EVERYONE -players and developers- would be wise to treat the CMP like this.
DUST514 mercenaries, if there is one thing we want LEGION and DUST to be like, was talked about in this podcast. Screw suits, balance, player numbers or any other metric we can think about how the game should be. The CPM needs our support and our investment because without them LEGION will never become what DUST should have been.
DUST514 developers, not following your EVE counterparts in how they interact with the CSM will cause LEGION to fail. I want the game to flourish and I believe that following the lead of CCP and the CSM will make the game become a great experience that will attract many gamers and hold them. The excitement and passion makes me want to play the game and DUST/LEGION need that passion to show through to the players.
I want to hear more stories about how the CPM interacts with the players and CCP, I don't want to read it. I don't want to see it in a DEVblog or from a tweet or in some forum post. I want to hear on a cast or see it in a video because it is more visceral and it lets us feel the passion for this universe. Don't miss out on what you have access to because of hubris or complacency or any other big word that fits in that sentence. Use your resources, us the players.

Ahhh the CPM.
I'm amazed that I met a few (unknoeingly) because I don't pay much attention to them overall.
I wish I could get my claws on Judge for a few hours to go over numbers for AV/V to make sure my ideas on how to re-introduce marauders wouldn't bone vehicle drivers.
Im pretty sure he has all the old numbers.
But more importantly, until the plyerbase learns to see the CPM as more than a convenient scapegoat to blame when they get madbro, CCP will never have an impetus to treat them as more than cursory mouthpieces.
When the players habitually treat the CPM like a freshly use wad of toilet paper they will find their opinions and desires unrepresented and ignored.
Even the ClusterF**k Coalition takes the EVE CSM seriously. Goons do not try to sabotage it because it is important to have that voice if you wish to see the game improve and become worth your time.
Even the Goonswarm Federation is grudgingly coming to the conclusion that EVE is becoming less of a sh** game steadily because of the cooperation between players and DEVs via the CSM.
But here we are in DUST blaming the CPM for being turds. Expecting them to magically stop being who they are and barking demands at them like they are dogs.
This is probably the only time I will EVER utter this.
I respect Judge Rhadamanthus' views on vehicles because he actually brings hard data to match or counter my detailed observations. The pilots should treasure his presence on the body. AV gunners need to quit trying to drown him out.
IWS may be a biased git, but he's a biased git who knows how Shanghai operates and can help shoehorn the CPM into the odd slot it occupies.
Soraya proves that they are still human and provides a perspective that parity must be enforced and maintained.
None of them are completely stupid. Ultimately we need to either work with them or the CPM will forever be a meaningless gesture of placation rather than an opportunity for the playerbase to participate in the evolution of DUST and LEGION.
Now back to your regularly scheduled pubbie-mocking.

CCP has a direct line to the players and even though they do listen to feedback and suggestions they seem to still do their own thing. I am not a CPM or anything like that but I do think it is a valuable resource that they could use to make the games better and avoid some pit falls. The point is that they should be using the CPM as a tool and use that tool to make things better for all of us.
