For the past several weeks, Tranquility has been the target of a persistent series of DDOS attacks, which have been responsible for connection issues that our players have been experiencing.
Up until this point, for security reasons we have been referring to these attacks as GÇ£network issuesGÇ¥ so as not to provide the attackers with increased visibility. However, we can see that these issues are at times proving to be frustrating for our players, and as such we would like to be more transparent about the issue to allow better understanding of the situation.
Our teams have been working tirelessly to address these attacks, but by their nature they are extremely difficult to predict. We will continue to counter these attacks as they occur, in our efforts to provide you as much uninterrupted internet spaceship fun as possible.
Thank you for your understanding, and apologies for any inconvenience the interruptions have been causing.

gdam, ok CCP for this you deserve credit given the fact you have been shrugging off the attacks quite well.

Problems with my sp
On the 22.09.14nd after the prize for the event, at approximately 3:00 p.m.. 215,000 resigned approximately sp of my account, after a disconnection of the game. Then on having connected 33,000 turned out to be alone sp. I ask for a positive response to the briefness.

I have been under the impression that the servers were just going to crap for a series of reasons that I found plausible. I'm glad that you are telling us this now, as I had wondered what has been going on since HF Charlie that wrecked the game servers and continually DC'D me.
MEEEOW are sauce bosses!!!
I can run just about anything.

Please tell me you have a pretty competent CSO on stage (Chief Security Officer).
Awesome kudos on the transparency, watching cert reports, it Is pretty easy to spot the traffic as abnormal with the fixed ip addresses your using for your clusters. Also, I would be careful about using skype, overflow buffers and the likes are a pain when your the target, one could say it would make it easier to complete certain tasks. That's my 2 cents |

Let us be very clear here. These are not hackers, just a bunch of script kiddies with access to some very powerful tools that real engineers created. The orbital cannon is no joke and I applaud CCP for their ability to shrug off these attacks. It is all too easy to clog up a pipe these days.
At this point though, I would ask your provider or send an email to Farice, Emerald and Cantat requesting assistance on the backbone. That could only lead to some serious problems for the perpetrators. Luckily (or unluckily) you guys have a very limited international footprint.

Might be a good thing then that we're playing through Sony's network too, they may have resources available to address this. I shudder to think how bad this could be were we just using open internet to connect through, since that would probably accomodate much worse attacks, hidden more effectively through players' home computers and possibly exponentially more difficult to track and stop.

How long has this been going on for? Months, weeks, days.
I for one am not surprised by the actions of the hackers, at all.
I am still bitter about the whole Fanfest thing. Yes still bitching about it. IDK. maybe its for the better that CCP takes it time and resources to fight off these people. Maybe just maybe they will actually see it as, they made a mistake and they are paying for it.
Who knows. All I know is that this game is starting to become alot less fun nowadays due to the lack of player base and the lack of well, A GAME.
A few simple elements that would make this game game would be an open player market and team deploy.
I do have to say though that CCP is working on it and they are doing a good job.
Good work CCP.
