Assault swarms are at the moment the most useless thing in the game due to its double lock on capability which is useless. How about we take a similar approach like with forgeguns? At the moment you can hold the lock on and decide when to fire your swarms, forgeguns can charge and hold it. How about if the assault swarm launcher fires its volley as soon the lock on is aquired? Ya know keep holding R1 down and it keeps locking on and shoting automatic just like assault forgeguns. Cause with a assault forgegun you can aswell hold R1 down and the thing keeps charging and firing until the clip is empty.
Bright is the opposite of dark! Who would have thought of that?!

This would be terrible.
Not only can you already fire the Swarm volley instantaneously if you've got good muscle-memory, but it would also make them incredibly prone to crashing into obstacles.
Along with removing their ability to delay your firing path to make the 1st two volleys hit at the same time. In my opinion, that alone would make it even worse.

Personally, I like the idea of Assault Swarms firing three-missile volleys with a reduced lock time, and four volleys per magazine. With, say, a 1.1sec lock time, so that they have reduced DPS in return for the more readily-applicable damage.
This would also open the way for a Breach variant as the inverse, with two six-missile volleys per clip. I'd recommend having more than a 50% increase in lock time on these compared to the default Swarms, what with the dramatic damage increase allowing for much more of an "Alpha- |

It's so clear when people have nothing to really talk about or add to the forums .
I've seen posts like this one all day .
Sometimes it's best to just say nothing .
Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

If it gets redused lock time and small damage buff then **** YEAH I LOVE THISSSSSS. BEST IDEA I've seen in a while. RATTATI PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEE let this happen as I said. Less lock time, tiny damage buff, and no holding on to the volley. Basically it's an assault forge gun except it's missles.

To not let them be too op, just make them do smaller turns or less capable of reaching there target.

I'd prefer a variant of the swarm launcher that fires a single rocket with no homing.
Why not let the assault SL do that? Or perhaps I'm the only one who wants to have control over their weapon instead some awful guidance AI...
Too many times have I been in prime position to deliver an HAV a swarm suppository, but the swarms flare out, hit a box/building, and do nothing.
(Though, a non-homing SL may better fit a breach variant, I don't know)

It is useless as is. A better option would be giving the ASL
a) longer lock on range and/or missile speed and less damage
or
b) shorter lock on range and/or lock on time and more damage
