I hadn't been playing Dust for a while due to multiple new games I got over the summer and spring, yesterday I though I would touch Dust again with the update Alpha/Bravo/Charlie apparently being big bug fixes.
First thing I notice is my Gallente suit is red, this confusing me due to Gallente typically being green while Amaar red. I then joined a squad to play and the game starts, match jumps from 15-25 fps. Halfway through after cloaking I realize the running bug is still in, crippling my cloak/commando build. Match then ends with a win, enemy team having camped on roofs above the objective the whole entire match. Game proceeds to crash.
Not much seemed to have changed, did it?

They weren't bug fixes. They were balancing changes.
Dust is much more balanced now, but has the same bugs.

Dust is much more balanced now, but has the same bugs. This. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie (and soon Delta), are hotfixes, not bug fixes.

I think you did that when you made it.

I think you did that when you made it. Works quite well actually, the cloak basically mitigates deaths when running in the open (where a lot of heavy deaths happen). Also allows me to easily ambush players and tanks.

All commandos are red now. That way qq avengers can recognize the difference between commandos and sentinels and pre empt the inevitable "light weapon on a heavy" qq |

Also allows me to easily ambush players and tanks. Then you're playing against people that suck. Running out in the open is the easiest way for a cloaked player to be spotted and anyone that doesn't see the huge distortion of a commando is just blind. Another thing is any non-scout suit is going to be severely gimped even with just the basic cloak on so you end up giving up gank & tank just to be somewhat invisible for a handful of seconds. This also makes you much easier prey for scouts because they'll scan you in a heartbeat and can easily sneak up on you. With your suit being so gimped you would never stand a chance even if they missed the first shot.

You might ust have been unlucky. I haven't crashed in the last two months and even lag is extraordinary rare. Also, a cloak is pointless on a commando, since you will easily be scanned, meaning there will be a chevron above your invisible body.
You can't fight in here! This is the war room.
