So before I even think about putting down $$ into the bpos what will happen to them when and if legion ever comes into existance?
Right now BPOs feels like buying a pack of cigarettes, they will go up in smoke eventually

What I'd like to see happen:
Since in Legion (at least currently), all suits are BPOs, current BPO's will become shaders/paint pattern/ etc. CCP has already expressed a desire for a type of cosmetic customization, for both Eve and Dust/Legion. Perhaps our BPOs can be unique patterns that only those who bought them in Dust could have access too.
Just my hope.

If you look at the stickies, CCP Rouge pointed out that they want to transfer your "investment" towards Legion when the time comes.

Yes but they have only gave a definite answer towards SP, not your assets. I assume some assets will transfer over but in the case of BPOs and all drop suits being BPOs in legion how will this work?
Edit: which also brings to question if all dropsuits are bpos does that mean that the officer caldari drop suit will be a bpo?

Hold that thought. CCP Z mentioned that he is making changes to the original plan mentioned in Fanfest 2014. However, some players feel that BPOs in Legion should become like BPOs in Eve where materials are required. But that's a separate topic altogether.
