Teamwork is an important part of DUST 514, and could very well bring back the fun in your game-play. Try finding like minded Mercenaries, and band together in a squad. Try joining a Corporation, find good chat-channels, and communicate with others. I can recommend the DevHangout channel, where I am constantly harassed with feature and fix ideas
- I do admit, some of them are legit and make sense - and where I also join squads to jump in battle.
Try new weapons, new Dropsuits, new styles until you find the non-boring ones, Militia items allow you to do so without spending SP.
Also, here a good opportunity for a quick SP boost:
The Million Clone Challenge Returns! Look battle Academy was EXTREME lazy implementation and personifies CCP Shanghai. Then we get to it not being touched in what...8 months+?
Battle Academy has 2 quests... One is making a suit fitting, One is joining a match. If you do good in that match? It kicks you out to Face me and 2 year Vets, People who have conquered all of PC, Won several 1st places in the Only tournaments DUST has had.
Why isn't there an actual intuitive quest process implemented in the Battle academy, So we Vet's can get some competant blueberries that know the general game. And new players can actually have a Developed and thought out new player learning curve.
No new player should leave the Battle academy without doing a quest for :
Using a Nanohive and having 2 different players take ammo from it.
Using an Uplink and Have 2 team mates spawn on it.
Call in a MLT Tank and kill 1 installation and 1 player.
Call in a MLT Dropship and get transportation Warpoints.
Use a MLT Armor Repair tool.
Use the 4 MLT Rifle Variants and get a kill with each.
Hack 5+ things.
Hack an Objective and have it turn to your team.
Use an Installation to blow up a MLT Tank.(To promote the recent changes and learning around it)
New players should have significant time in a segregated new player base to do these quests.
Starting off new clones with 250k ISK is assbackward for the lessons CCP Learned with character creation on EVE online and base ISK values. And that was a game where people payed for accounts and had limitations installed on transfering money on trial accounts.
DUST? is a free to play game... And CCP suddenly forgot all the lessons learned from EVE online? Further more has left the 250k Starting ISK for a year?, Even though Chribba and Mitiani has done news reports on the New player creation ISK farm on DUST.
The entire thing reeks of just epic lazyness.
You can say new players should use an un-intuitive squad finder that has next to no learning curve or explanation in battle academy as an answer to them being somehow competitive after getting kicked out of battle academy on their 2nd match in DUST to then face a squad of myself and my peers... It's just crazy in every sense of being a game developer and wanting to gain and retain users.
It would be like EVE online letting people do 2 missions on the Tutorials then sending them off to do a Lvl 4 mission next. Or worse sending them into a Choke point entering 0.0.
Like how can anyone have pride in what they do and just leave this massive problem
FOR YEARS, that nearly everyone that cares about this game has pointed out a million times on these forums....
What does it take for you guys to take action?
