i pressed triangle to deploy and it derped and then i was unable to do anything.. just watch the blue dots move around couldnt select edit nor choose my suits or even cancel deployment even if i wan deployed

That's what you get for playing COD mode. Just wait till drop links are nerfed and you have nothing but dumb deploy muhahahahahahaha

Yup i had it few times too, just leave game and go for another round.
Its just glitch nothing else.

I think what he means to say is that we have complained so f-ing much about this to CCP for a long time.
Just earlier on our team got wiped purely because people kept spawning even when they knew the area was totally compromised and camped to hell and back.
I just sat it out and accepted the fate of the game but its not fun for anyone but the campers. Lets be honest - is it really that much fun shooting the proverbial fish in the barrel?

thats true.. but in that situation i wish people were smarter then just spawning like lemmings and just stop spawning till the hostiles non the uplink cause they got the shakes and want more kills

Lol never say never friend. If they nerfed nanohives so nade spam would stop happening, I wouldn't be surprised uplinks getting a "nerf". Anyway, don't the CPMs have something in the works?
How does one play Skirm/Dom? I can't even. It's just so...so...bad.
Like Bolt said, sometimes I just sit there watching those clones drop because smart deploy fails or if there is one uplink that is being camped, smart deploy will always spawn you on the uplink. Either way, I'm not wasting money just to spawn in for a quick two shots before I'm dead

How does one play ambush?!? It's for proto squads with a need to feed on COD babies in starter fits that think, whooohooo just like team death match!!! Dumbest mode ever.

How? Well for starters, its pretty damn fun. My particular favorite of Ambush is the one with the bridge with four blaster cannons at the four points of it.
I hardly ever see too many protos and if I do, it is manageable. You just have to pick your shots, stay on the line, recognize when to push, know when to flank, when to retreat into cover and how to aim. Me and my corpmates been having plenty of fun in Ambush because the games often come down to wire. I guess I've grown accustomed to ambush.
But Domination and Skirmish? I get mad quick. It's those moments when you push for the objective, hack, and then leave the objective to set up for the impending battle only to see hordes of reds around. It's only you and your mates, fighting against the horde. You scratch your head. Then you check the map. No uplinks. Hmmm that's kinda odd. So now you have to switch to uplink fit. Wait a minute, where the heck are the blues. Oh look, there's one and he's staring off into the distance. Oh look there's another, and another, and another-wait a minute why the **** are they sitting in the redline??
Then you realize its nothing but the hordes of reds roaming the map looking for anything to kill. It's the same thing when you are on the "winning" side. You watch as MCC tickets rapidly deplete and no one cares.
The truth is, from my experience, I don't see any type of "match play" happening in Skirm or Dom. It's a barren wasteland. There's a wide gap between people who want to play and people who do not. And there's more of those who do not, even though strangely, they are there in battle.
With Ambush, the objective is to kill and only kill. It's a simple task and while not all blueberries are exceptionally good at it, at least they participate there. Playing Domination makes me salty.
I've had matches come down to the last 10 clonesin Ambush; some very intense matches that I enjoy. It keeps me happy about Dust 514. Because one thing about Dust 514 that you can't duplicate nowhere else on the console is that when you have a good matchup of players, the battles are damn good coming down to who fucks up first. I love that.
While Dom is just a ISK sink, since me and the other 4-5 guys are the only ones working in the game.
Excuse the long post but I simply had to express this. I don't see how people can play Dom/Skirm with a straight face. We have a problem there and until we get better competitive players, I often refuse to play such game modes anymore.

Just want to give some input, it's not the Smart Deploy, it's the Deploy mechanic.
There's something that happens when you deploy and the timer hits 0. There's some sort of bug where you are locked at 0, and on top of it, you can't cancel deployment (yet another bug).
In my case, in a Domination, chose MCC spawn, watched it go to 0, and it stayed there. I decided to pull out my phone and record it and was stuck for the entire match.
Anyways, just wanted to say that it's not just in Ambush using the smart deploy, but I've had it happen to me in Dom and Skirm which suggests to me a deploy bug.
I'll upload the video when I get around to it.

Smart deploy is definitely a misnomer.
As for ambush, I used to hate it but in the last couple of months it's the mode I've played the most and I've got a new found appreciation for it. It's the best mode for going ISK positive and once you get past the noob stage you can have lots of fun.
How do you kill that which has no life?
