Due to the amount of power they use, you'd think they'd always show up on radar, when in reality, they only show up 5m away from you.
Thoughts? |

CCP mentioned this a while back and said they couldn't fix it because of the way scanning works >.> so unless your suit has a scan radius of like 100 you won't ever scan a tank.

I know there was talk about it a while back, but I wasn't aware of what came out of it.
It's a pity it can't be fixed. |

You wanna know the radar scanning doesn't seem to work?
Sure a vehicle and infantry WOULD be highlighted on your radar but
only when within your DROPSUIT SCAN RANGE
unless CCP decides to boost the average suit scan range from 10-15 meters.
They literally won't show up until they are within that range unless you have a direct visual.
As you can see......WAY TOO SHORT OF A NOTICE for a vehicle or infantry alert.
We haven't even discussed the dampener skills so even if they are within that range..they might not even show up because your scan isn't strong enough to detect them anyway.
I realized that....when i finally got fed up on how darn heavies was sneaking up on me.

I wonder if it would be possible to have vehicles with scan profiles so high that they effectively increased your scan range by an order of magnitude just for them.

Ideally, their icons would just appear on the edge of your radar, starting smaller, increasing in size, until they actually came within your scan range. |

If you make them show up on radar at all times the tankers still start complaining again.
