So I think we can come to the general consensus that the current tutorials are really, really, really bad. So why not have the community that actually plays and who knows may actually enjoy the game who know what their doing to design them in both written and video forms. The video tutorial will go through the steps needed to properly skill up, fit suits, what weapons do what etc with narration. The written form will be something you can access in the options section which is very similar and under goes a step by step of how to get better at dust.
CCP provides a certain criteria that the Tutorial must fit and the players then create it. Prizes could go something like this:
1st place Video tutorial 100m ISK 5 of ever officer weapon in the game (including tourney prize ones) 2 omega boosters 2 factional boosters per faction 5,000 lp per faction 100 of every proto aurum weapon/suit
2nd place Video tutorial 50m ISK 5 of every officer weapon (excluding tourney prize ones) 1 omega booster 1 factional booster per faction 2,500 lp per faction 50 of every proto aurum weapon/suit
1st place written tutorial 75m ISK 5 of every officer weapon (excluding tourney prize ones) 1 omega booster 1 factional booster per faction 3,000 lp per faction 75 of every proto aurum weapon/suit
2nd place written tutorial 50m ISK 3 of every officer weapon (excluding tourney prize ones) 1 regular booster 1 factional booster per faction 1,500 lp per faction 50 of every proto aurum weapon/suit
In my opinion filming and editing a rather lengthy video that encompasses a large list of things which requires editing is much more difficult and time consuming than just typing something up. Their is a 1st and 2nd place as well as two tutorial types because things should be able to be viewed from different points of view and in different formats. Everybody wins, the winners receive some rewards for their effort, the CCP Devs don't have to create new more in depth tutorials, and newer players may be more likely to stick to this game and get better improving the DUST player base and bringing more experienced players into the mix.
