If you're new to trying Dust 514, regardless of what gamers say about its past or its future (against PS4 games, Project Legion game, PS3 technology), Dust is an EVE-Online style game.
That means, this game is LONG-HAUL: It's effectiveness or life span is made possible by the PLAYERS who get drawn into it and stay on it, and it components and social terminology is made possible by the players as well.
As rookies (Newberrys, when we're being respectful or sympathetic of you), you're going to find a hailstorm of tems and slang-abbrevations that (for better or worse) advanced and vet players are going to expect you to understand and follow along when on Forums like this, or even more challenging, when actually coordinating and communicating (huh, wha?) in the matches.
Any list of teminoolgy you find online anywhere tends to be too brief, or way too long between updates.
I'm an advance-player with a LOT of stooopid down-time on her hands. So I'll try to list and define tems here when I remember them, or if you hear one and want to know "was that player DISSING me a couple of games ago?"
Just like Dust's SP grind, we start slow. Here's a first.
"Bump Out" -
Now this term is OLD. It's a respectful term.  It's from EVE capsuleers, who have to learn how to properly taxi their speaceships out of the safe fittings menu area of the space station, and out into the open area where they can move/ scan/ hyper-jump, etc.
For Dust players, it means learning how to move your vehicle successfully out of the RDV staging area.
When you've gotten into your shiny new DS, and you're sure you've got your people inside and there's no incoming RDVs over your head, you're ready to BUMP OUT.

A mention about "New" players:
Dust 514 is a CRAP-LOAD more brutal and unsympathetic on beginner players than ANY fps I can remember in my experience. (There are arguably reasons why it NEEDS to be that way...).
Because of the amount of time and effort many players put into it just to make progress, and because of how easy it is to LOSE so much of your investment in just a few mess-ups from fellow players, it's natural for there to be an "X" amount of resentment or apprehension toward having to operate with novice players alongside you during matches.
But that doesn't mean you should have to take any crap from us advanced or vet players without KNOWING when you are being accepted courteously by players you want to squad with, and when you are being fingered by players who are thinking derogatory attitude towards you. (That goes for ON this forum, as well as IN the actual game).
NEWBERYis the term EVE-Online made famous, and it is the fully respectful  term for New players. Even though Dust 514 gets a little more complicated than EVE about working with fellow players, we TRY to carry the term Newberry into Dust play as well. If you get called a Newberry, smile about it. We were all there, once.
NOOB / NEWBIE are tterms we console players have carried with us for YEARS in other fps games we played, so it's natural that we throw them out here in Dust as well. But calling me a Noob/Nexbie doesn't give me much warning whether you LIKE having me on your squad or hope to see me stomped as brutally as possible. Since Dust is seriously a game unlike other fps titles, it makes sense to practice New Eden terms as much as possible... and when you get called a Newberry, at least you have a rough idea where stand with fellow members.
REDBERRY is a derogatory  term, but at least it's meant for the enemy players ("RED" means the opposing player). "I turned my turret on some Redberrys hiding inside the buidling", means the enemy players clustered together like they didn't have a purpose, couldn't organize a sensible escape--retreat--or AV response, and helped me rack up a ton of kill-points.
BLUEBERRY is also (usually...) a derogatory word for YOU, the Newberry.  Fellow players on the same team as you will use because "They are too un-focused for me to want near me, or expect to be of help to me", or "They're not on my squad, and uselessly fill up seat in my vehicle", or "They are only going to get me killed in the FW matches".
This is not always hatred or resentment.. Often it's just an expression that novice players are too hard or dangerous to work alongside in the game (because Dust is THAT hard to get good at).
So the conclusion can be argued: If they call me a Redberry, Blueberry, or Noob...I am not on their positive list just yet----so I'd better start off by referring to MYSELF as a Newberry as much as possible, so I can encourage some good vibes in the conversation.
