Death Shadow117 wrote:i dont want to.watch.a video i wnat to read about it. Wow, are you sure? The funny edition one is actually somewhat funny.
Anyway, I'll give you my understanding of it!
Basically certain people in the FCC are heavily pushing for the internet to be separated into two separate lanes. A slow lane and a fast lane. Smaller websites/companies would have their website throttled, and put in the slow lane, and in turn have less people using them, and monopolies would be created.
With fast lanes and slow lanes big name companies like Comcast or Verizon could put services like say, Netflix in the slow until they give Comcast x amount of millions of dollars to be put in the fast lane. If Netflix says no, they stay in the slow lane, and people with Comcast see that Netflix is unusually slow, but do they see that Comcast is the one making it slow? No, they blame Netflix
Monopolies are just plain bad for the economy, for several reasons! For example, say net neutrality was destroyed, a monopoly for ISPs would be made for the best speeds for the best prices. Seems good, right? Except a year later, when all the other smaller competition is destroyed due to lack of ability to compete, the larger companies get together and say, "Hey guys, let's hike up the prices, after all, what can they do about it? We're their only choice now!"
See the problem? You now find yourself paying $100+ a month just for internet! |

Net neutrality sounds great but what it means is greater regulation of the internet by the government, now if you think Affirmative Action fixes racism then you will support this. I think excessive government interference, for our own good of course, is a bad idea.
Because, that's why.

Not saying it doesn't happen but theirs a name for that it's called "price fixing" which is illegal.

Well, with the internets top **** sites along with the major internet companies like google and some other company doing an internet slowdown protest to all of their customers showing them what would happen if the FCC goes through with their new regulation, millions of people by now should know what will happen and the FCC should be getting a lot of protest letters from people all other the country. unless those people are sheep and or don't care.
