Minja's can't really compete with the other scouts EWAR but they do have speed advantage
Can a super fast minja beat an equally skilled EWAR cal or gallente?
Also on a side note can a gal scout run faster than a min with all those lows?

For a Minja you want to balance speed and ewar. IF you come rushing at me with your knives without ewar you would be dead before you reach 10M. At least fit in 1 dampeners and your set to hunt most suits except ewar scouts.

EWAR is usually better.
No need to have a good amount of speed when you can see where your enemy is and what direction they're facing. Speed primarily helps you evade when you've been surprised, but nothing surprises an EWAR scout.

What if I wasn't hunting the EWAR scout? My min doesn't usually have problems with scouts now without the kincats but I do run into really annoying cal scouts which often causes me to move on to new hunting grounds.( other side of map)
I guess what I want to know is if the kincats will help with these EWAR scouts. If I don't run right into them will the still try to hunt me? I already have some noob SG scouts try to shoot me to have me run out past their optimal and kill them with CR but those are noobs.

From personal experience I run my proto with no damps, just three kincats. I've done fine against EWar scouts just because of the fact that I could outrun them and evade. On my adv I wearr one damp and it does decent, I also throw on a precision.
But yeah to me; speed > ewar but if the other team is heavily ewar centric then you have no choice than to either mix the two or go straight ewar and be a glass cannon. (Might have to make a straight EWar fit today) no shields, no armor. Just 3 precision, 1 range and a kin cat

No speed in the world will save you when a other scout is capable to see you with passive scans. They know when you will turn around the corner and start shoting you while you are unaware that this is going to happend.
They say when you die you see a white light which then forms the line of:

Speed will help you evade deaths, but doesn't lead to nearly as many kills as EWAR.

Both. 1 com kin, 1 adv reg, 1 com damp, 3 ADV precision. Speed, stealth, endurance. No HP but im used to that.

EWAR as a whole is better than speed, primarily because of shared passive scans.
You can always run speed mods and outrun scouts who pick you up on tacnet and try and attack, but your real danger is when they broadcast your position to heavies and assaults you are trying to flank.
You may pick up a dot on tacnet, and think you have an assassination target, only to find it is a big fat heavy and he knows you are there.
The biggest problem with running a scout is that in certain contexts, you need all of the above. Sometimes you need the speed, sometimes you need the EWAR, sometimes you need some hacking too. You need precision to pick up undampened scouts and you need range to pick up reds that might otherwise kill you before you know they are there.
Being a good scout is incredibly SP intensive.

Pretty much this. It depends on the map/how the battle is panning out. I only run the 3 kin cat in heavy centric maps where I can get in close, quick and knife. Also good when you get mad and wanna run around knifing people.

I've never really found a use for Kin Cats, for some reason. Mostly I just stick with a heavy in my squad and find all the red dots with my incredible EWAR.

If the entire team that you are facing is composed of heavies and non-gal logis, then you can afford to run speed over most eWAR

I'm not sure about Gal beating Min for speed, but I believe the fastest you can get is around 11.5m/s. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me can give you more details.

This, however, I don't use a dampner on anything below PRO. Still, I enjoy my speed and am able to sneak up cal scouts in pubs.
Try to balance it out depending on the type of team you're against. |
