When people irl ask me why i rage so much at it i cant even ecplain it too them. Does anyone else feel that we are trapped in a box and we can hear people outside and they can hear us but its like were speaking different languages. Then theu ask me why dont you just stop playing it and all i can say is "you wont understand it."

a couple weeks ago i mentioned to a co worker i play an obscure game called dust and he replied that he knew about it because it made his old room mate rage out all day long. i dpnt rage often on dust but when i did one time i hit the armrest on my office chair, tore thru the fabric, broke through the particle board and threw the chunk at the wall all in one attack.

lol. I know, right? I'm starting to draw little Dust characters in my notebooks and whenever I'm next to a calculator I start crunching numbers to see if certain fittings work and how much "x" percentage adds to my "y" stat.
Help me!!!
*edit: actually, I love the gameplay. There's nothing about Dust I dislike... except sometimes the lag, but that's usually my dad on netflix.

My wife asked me why I play the game if it makes me so mad. I couldn't make her understand I play the game BECAUSE it makes me mad. She doesn't understand depressing movies either.
I suppose it is a bad thing that I want to be alone when I play and I sometimes sneak in some games and lie about it.

For myself, and many of my friends, Dust514 was the promise of Chromosome, the lore associated with Battlefield Commanders actually running the battle from the MCCs. Then add in the players market to free up unused gear plus getting EVE industrialists to manufacture stuff (gear, still unclear on that) for Mercs of their choosing. And my Mercs could make a couple million ISK a day in profit. Rewards to CCP were in the form of AUR from packs because they deserved it for developing this potential greatness.
And it came to NOTHING! A failed game on an ancient game engine that was horribly broken at 1.0 and an absolute embarrassment to many. Why? Because when they showed up after 1.0+ all they got to see was a broken game with dead silence from the Devs and no hope of a future. Which was finally driven home during fanfest.
So, yeah. I hear where you are coming from. And yes it still sticks in my throat. Legion will be based on Dust514 assets but does it really matter? Not for me, because it is has the same backing (maybe less so) than Dust514 did in the beginning. Not even a promise, just a possibility of a chance that will eventually be released sometime. If it is even approved.
Who knows, maybe CCP focuses lasers differently than anywhere else. 
The difference for me is that now I only log in when I see my friends actually playing it. Otherwise, I have over a hundred games on Steam and not one of the was made by CCP.
In New Eden no SP is wisely spent.
CCP will Nerf the reason right out from under you.

I don't agree, about the gameplay part. I think it's crap that there won't be gameplay additions - particularly that there won't be extra maps - but the DUST drug doesn't make me sad. It's a thrilling game (intermittently!) and if you win a tight match it can leave you elated. We moan about it but it may well end up as my favourite game of the PS3 era.
