So for the past week I have been trying out the Laser Rifle since I came back. Just the Militia Variant on the Frontline suit., it was a pain to use and I often died(a lot). It was hard getting used to a scope that actually works(Scrambler Scope has zero zoom), and I had problems controlling the whole light show. But last night I was on a streak! I was zapping down suits and even heavies in a flash. The fun factor in this gun is great and when you get those three proto scouts in a row makes it better.
Okay now to get serious. I'm still have problems with the whole "Death touch" trick, since I come from using a Scrambler Exclusively, the idea of firing for a long period of time is foreign to me. I often use this weapon for flanking as most dudes won't suspect the laser to come shredding from behind. I have put LV3 in OP, 1 in Ammo and 2 in Reload Speed. I run Amarr Commando exclusively with Scrambler and Shotgun, so finding an ideal setup with the LR will take some trials. Anyways any tips, or videos that I could be directed to, so I can pick up the Laser more quickly?

I wish the Aim Speed with in ADS was reduced.
It feels way too fast for me, which is odd because it wasn't always this way.

I find that I'm better off moving my entire character instead of trying to make that small adjustment as my gun will spray all over the place. If it had the ADS speed of the Scrambler Rifle I would be fine. Also the Scrambler needs a scope buff.

I only use the AScP when I have a rifle.

Well with the commando not having the heat reduction, your window of " death touch" is very limited. Best advice is get used to when you overheat. Knowing the length of time before then is crucial so you can pre heat the laser next to the red dot and then wave it over them. Strafe you character vs aiming will also help keeping the laser on target. And always try to aim for the head as the multiplier will help compensate of the shorter burn over the assault suit.
Also the assault ScR Pairs nicely with the laser for targets that get in close. The extra 10% damage from the bonus gives the assault needed power and that reload is insane.

The best way to adjust your aim with the LR (depending on the size of the adjustment, of course) is to move your character rather than the gun itself. Just keep aware of your surroundings. The number of times I've fallen down a hill or building while strafe-aiming is... embarrassing, to say the least. |

Thanks guys, I have finally made a fit and the use of the LR has come natural to me. I really don't know how it became so easy it has taken my about 2 weeks to learn to dominate with this weapon, the Scrambler Rifle took me two months to "get gud". Anyways thanks all, I have made my fit and I think it's here to stay. My last game today I went 27/6 with 8 kill assist along with a 15 kill streak.
My Original Fit: Commando A1 Series Light Weapons: ADV Scrambler Rifle, ADV Shotgun Equipment: ADV Active Scanner(15 sec visibility) Highslot: Enchance Shield Energizer Lowslot: Enchance Armor Plate, Enchance Armor Repair
My New Fit: Commando A1 Series
Light Weapons: ADV Assault Scrambler Rifle, ADV Laser Rifle Equipment: ADV Active Scanner(might switch to Nanohive because the LR is a ammo *****) Highslot: ADV Damage Mod Lowslot: Enchance Armor Plate, Enchance Armor Repair
I think I'll use my original fit for point defense and my new fit for squad or assault purposes. I will also experiment with the regular scrambler with the LR. I find the Assault variant to be too spray-ish, which ends up me needing to reload more often. Overall my new fit is a great suppressive fire suit, just as the intended role of the commando.
