Because when HAV pilots talk about how this and that is in real life regarding tanks, you bring up the argument that "this is a game and you should stick to gameplay balance, not how it goes in real life."
And when we talk about gameplay balance, you bring up the argument "but this is how it goes in real life, so there is no reason it shouldn't go like that in game aswell."
Double standard much?

I don't need RL resemblance to justify my balance ideals.
Though from a realistic standpoint, my Swarm Launcher would OHK vehicles all day everyday, an 80GJ Particle Cannon would turn maps into a parking lot, Forge Guns would cause DSs to fly into orbit, and OBs wouldn't be used at all.
This is why I don't want realism in my Sci-Fi FPS.

From both an AVer and Tanker point of view, I am rather bipolar on this situation.
I get angry at tanks when they zoom out of my Proto Swarm's range, but I kinda understand them since I have been pounded by them.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO

I absolutely want a 3 man crew running a tank, and a tank with no extra seats to be downsized to a MAV. But I dont care care all like that I kill tanks just fine.

I'm going to go with the Strawman Fallacy on this one but that is just because I'm too lazy to think of the correct one right now.

IRL tanks wreck stuff, but are easily taken out with the right equipment
the only difference is that the tanks in DUST won't cost millions |

Or you can point out that claiming one persons' play-style to grant them better mobility, damage tanking, and damage dealing while expecting someone else to have far less is the very definition of a Double Standard.

I think that it's looking better than it did in 1.7 .. 1.8 , now all that's missing is variety and the role of the HAV .
HAV's seem to not have a defined role and purpose in this game besides the description given and that's not accurate for the game that's being played at the moment .
Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

I want this to be a ground warfare game, not an arena rumble nor an infantry heavy FPS.
Therefore, no small maps designed for circular movement, non-tactical beeline running and hopping and dancing, no roundy roundy shooty shooty, no weak tanks.
There needs to be definite battle lines, deliberate movement and tanks that will **** the field and can be countered by other tanks, artillery units and AV teams.
Not having to base a win on capping objectives would allow for the above. Holding areas and letting them tick over to your side would allow for the above. Snipers would matter, tanks being gods would matter and infantry careful tactical movement would matter.
No more need for heavy emphasis on assault roles. A whole squad running AV would not be sacrificing usefulness because it won't be about shooty shooty rifle engagements.
Brick tanking a scout suit since April 2013!

All I gotta say is if you farm infantry in a tank the kills shouldnt count, I see all this qq about scout's being easy mode. What about tanks and ads? Most pubs consist of ****** blues thus no av so tanks and ads can run rampant. Your in a highly reinforced/mobile vehicle with a turret. How does that take any skill or effort unless fighting other vehicles?
Now comes the replys of scrub vehicle users that dont belong in a fps. Accept the fact you have no gun game. |

When I am doing AV I find no difficulty in getting rid of enemy tanks, I actually find it ridiculously easy to do. On top of being ridiculously easy, it's also so much fun blowing those things up. Knowing that they had no chance... Actually, I kinda feel cheap and dirty doing it but at least it's hell of a lot fun.

I shoot you with a Railgun, Blaster or Missile and I kinda expect it to I don't know blow your infantry to shreds? Kinda what a Giant anti vehicle or anti personnel round would do. |
