You guys said in the blaster turret post that you wanted to give to the transport dropships a new breath by adding blasters as default turrets. And that is really, really good. But if you really want players to use them, you need to do two small things that would considerably help the transport gameplay :
- war points for mobile CRU, players are asking for this since chromosome, we were supposed to have them for HOTFIX ALPHA, but well, we still wait for them.
- Weight of 60mm and 120mm plates. As gallente dropships will probably be fitted with the blasters they need to tank a bit, and plates are a good way to gain resilience, especially for new players. However, this is completely stupid to have 120mm plates with the same weight penality as a 60 mm plates. And with the limited PG/CPU of gallente dropships, it is almost impossible to get like on the incubus a good ratio (even at full skills) on : HP/reapir/weight
I don't have the plates HP bonus under my eyes, so the numbers are a bit abstractive, this is just to give you an idea :
2% penality for militia/standard 60mm (current 3%) 3% penality for advanced 120mm (current 6%) 4% penality for complex 60mm (current 10%)
6% penality for militia/standard 120mm (current 3%) 8% penality for advanced 120mm (current 6%) 10% penality for complex 120mm (current 10%)

???
I run my Incubus with a Particle Cannon, Complex 120mm Plate, Complex Light Armor repair, with a Complex PG Upgrade and Afterburner. Having Armor Fitting Prof. 5 lets you fit basically anything you want on the thing and I have enough spare PG/CPU with that fitting to stick another Particle Accelerator on the side without sacrificing anything in the process (though my Small Turret Op. is 5 so that helps with the CPU).
Weight (with this fitting) is a complete non-factor because lol Afterburners all day everyday.
I agree with the message of this thread though. 60mm Plates shouldn't be pulling you down at the same rate as a 120mm plate and your suggested weight tweak would be something I'd support. It'd definitely encourage people stick 60mms on there as well.

Maybe I didn't express very well. The incubus can get a good ratio on repair/HP/weight, on the contrary, it is more difficult to fit a Gorgon or a Grismnes.
