I use it to thin the enemy ranks out and get them away from the objective some folks are too obsessed with the death of one lonesome lone wolf.

If I retreat in my Gallente Assault it usually means I am out of my weapon's range.
That's a bad thing.
So I tend to avoid retreating, rather play with cover and make use of my fast regen to try and thin out the enemy before I can come out and finish them off.

I used to not run away, but I killed some HMG fatty's LAV and he started chasing me, I could just stay out of range and whenever he would call in another LAV I'd kill it and the chase would be on. I could just see how pissed off the guy was and it was so much fun I never looked at running away the same.
Because, that's why.

I agree with the guy who said pride - but I also consider it a matter of maths. If there's some OP heavy slaughtering all and sundry, I will accept i'm going to die but do my best to reduce his stats so the next guy can take him down easier.
If i get a kill assist in this kind of situation then i consider it job done!
