Without a client update? I'm not talking about entirely new weapons, like what we got with 1.8 and the new sidearms and such, I'm just talking about variants. Something along the lines of a high capacity sniper rifle with a low magnification scope and a high rate of fire. Of course, it would have a low damage to ensure it wasn't OP, but just something that could be used more like a Tac rifle. This of course goes for other weapons too. Having a breach Bolt Pistol or a burst Ion Pistol could be cool. Maybe even Nova Knives that did much greater damage to vehicles and less to infantry.
No real weapon suggestions here though, just curious as to whether these types of things could be implemented without a client update. It could add a lot to the game without as much effort as a full update. Anyways, cheers. Keep the hotfixes rolling, Ratatti~! <3

Yes its possible for them to make variants. I myself would love to see a 'bolt rifle' (think bolt pistol, but bigger), call it the TAC RR

Pretty much any existing mechanics and values can be swapped around and modified server side. Just have to get somebody to do it.
