What do I need on my dropsuit to make it unscannable...apart from hacks.
Dampeners? And if you know, at what dB's does a suit become unscannable?

For Amarr/Minmatar its 3 Complex Damps and a proto cloak.
For Cal/Gal its 2 Complex Damps and a proto cloak OR 3 Complex Damps

depends on your suit, your skills and what your being scanned by
1 eye just gave you the worst case scenario, which is a lvl 5 gal logi with a proto focused scanner scanning at 15 db |

Making something 100% unscannable you can always be sure of is a very very broken mechanic.
Should really be addressed. (And so should 360' 24/7 passive scans as well)
The optimal balance would be:
Person A sacrifices everything for extreme damp, he is unscannable to all
BUT to
Person B sacrifices everything for extreme scans. While he activates the scan, he is able to scan person A.
If that cannot be reached, the secondary solution should be that person A has perfect damp only when he has best cloak active.
That is okay, but not as good.
As you can see above, the wanted level is dictated by having to activate, and therefore manage, to get the ultimate result.
Non stop extremes which you can always rely on is bad bad bad.
CCP Rattati heed to this advice.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

thats not exactly optimal balance, but i understand why you dont want 24/7 360 wallhacks, its a fair concern

Compare that to the version when someone has 24/7 permastealth.
Or where B gets to permasee A instead, without having anything to manage (even though making fitting sacrifices).
My point is, these are extremes. And there will be extremes in some form. =)

My concern isn't that someone has wallhacks or is permanently invisible.
My concern is that someone has wallhacks AND is permanently invisible.
Don't care if the suit has 1 hp, still broken as hell in the right hands.
Personally I would have made it so that radar itself took up a module or equipment slot to even function. Force some fools to make some actual decisions regarding their damn suit. |

Along with giving them a false sense of ability. I have called out people even my corpmates on this.Where or what is the tradeoff?
You see distance and orientation. It always gives you a beeline to your target.
I wished the wall hacks on suits were just like the active scanner, having a scope of view of 30 or 60 degrees,basically only your field of vision, with intermittent light ups of 7-10 secs.
Check the Bass Bruh !! My bad still figurin' out the buttons..

How long until the entire kill feed is shotguns and nova knives. Pretty soon games will look empty because everyone will be hiding cloaked. |
