Other than the extreme ranged Caldari FG Hipster + Logi Butler combo I have been vomiting in rage over the lack of optimized fits. But today that changed! Now I'm only disgruntled.
Check this out.
Sentinel C/1-Series 1x 'Dren' Swarm Launcher 1x 'Dren' Scrambler Pistol 3x Light Complex Damage Mods 1x Enhanced Armor Repairer
Total cost 28,845 ISK
Major Draws- Disposable
- Isn't out preformed by other Sentinels in this job
- Closed Beta nostalgia
I have a lot of respect for Classic Logis. New Eden could use more Healers.

It saddens me when people view Caldari as strictly a AV suit. I'm going to war with the infrantry in mines, switching to my dragonfly for AV.

My throwaway Caldari sentinel costs 22k and weilds a DAU. I can blap infantry/vehicles all day, and come out ISK positive even during the worst of days.
But when a DAU is not called for, I bring out my 35k, triple damage modded basic HMG. Quite the durable glass cannon, but it can hurt the wallet on bad days.
Now if only the caldari sentinel looked less rushed... Too bad there ain't a fit for that...
I am a minotaur.

Switch to the Basic Frame you say. Excellent idea, it costs the reps and one damage mod to a basic. Toxic SMG since it doesn't have the nerfed fitting stats. resulting in 15k ISK and some change. Survivability is overrated.

Have you done testing to see what matters more, basic HMG with good damage mods or good HMG with basic damage mods?

I love my Cal sentinel. It takes skill and patience to do well with it. |

he has a valid point.. caldari heavy suits.. mainly sentinel and commando have aweful fitting and no lows on the standard suits which is a big nono for anyone as we all remember how bad starter suits were with no armor reps

Cal senti isn't meant to be disposable! Cal senti lives to see a another day! ok ok... I use adv. calsenti with burst hmg and kitkats. Fast engage -> kill -> cover -> recharge shields -> repeat

not in any way any forge gun users give a crap about.
They're keeping the splash on assault forges and getting rid of it on the charge-holding ones. Not a huge change. Most of my kills are direct hit with even the assault forge guns, so the effect on my gameplay is going to be negligible. Just means I have to be more patient with my shots.

I think this thread of yours is a bit more relevant.
It addresses one of the core problems which make the Minmatar sentinel a better frame.

You could just as easily fit just as many heavy complex damage mods. In fact with the high alpha of a forge gun round the damage mod should be amplified even more. |

Its a stupid change, it is totally unneeded. However as a long time forger, it wont make a huge difference to my life. I just feel cheated out of that last little bit of utility.

LCDMs are 40% more efficient than HCDMs. In the same time Regular FG fires the second volley from the SL will be in the air. Even Vicious Minotaur's DAU only gets his first shot off a split-second faster than the second volley. That is assuming he has FG Operation at 5.
Hotfix Charlie indirectly nerfed FGs even more. I'm sure it was unintentional.
