i'll never be a General when Rattati gives us FW forum tags...
Well now I've got a stockpile of 50 proto gal logis, 50 of the best scanners, 50 specialist ARs, even 50 pro amarr sentinels
Ashamed to admit it but, I'll be running Amarr AND Minmatar now that I realized I could use the HMG and the rep tool.

They should make the thing more meaningful.
Make it so once you fight for one race you are effectively joining one of the two alliances. If you fight for the Caldari for instance, you can never switch and fight for the Gallente as you are hated by them, the Minmatar also look down upon you. However because you are fighting for the Caldari, the Amarr will gladly have you along in their battles. And vice versa for the other 'Alliance'.
I would also suggest that because FW choices would become more meaningful (without the ability to constantly switch sides for who ever you like), that once you join one of the two 'Alliances' you gain a small passive racially fitting bonus.
Example - Join Caldari+Amarr and you get a small % boost to shields and armour. Join the Gallente and Minmatar and you gain a small % bonus to weapon dmg and movement speed (For instance, I'm sure details can be worked out at a later stage)

You should push for this if you really want FW to be meaningful
They might not put it into Dust but it'll certainly be needed in Legion
I'm just practicing survival of the fittest to make my HMG sentinel cost less.
Plus my true loyalty is to Gallente. I don't fight at all for Caldari. Though I'd be tempted if they had Forge Guns.

Ok I totally accept that you dont like the idea of bonus passives. The loyalty store still has a few upgraded 'faction' items.
However, after fighting as Caldari, killing Gallente left and right.... why in NEW EDEN would the Gallente EVER let you fight for them? (I guess your answer will be - were mercs) but if that is the case then merc FW by definition can never be deep and meaningful as it almost has a sort of anonymity in that case.

Well you have to understand........ FW is a Proxy War. Basically because of something called the CEMWPA the empires are allowed to hire and delegate capsuleers with the authority to claim sovereignty for the Empire in specified low population regions of low sec space (My apologies to Denak and all Intaki, your world is the neglected Jewel of the Federation).
A capsuleer is merely employed by an FW corporation to work on behalf of that faction, however in EVE standings exist, these being representative values of your relationship with a faction, the can be modified by working for/ against a faction. Now in FW I believe in EVE you do not need a set or required standing to participate in Miltia activities....but you do to enter that factions High Sec space without being attacked.
While you can switch sides in miltia other factors, inclusive of "Allied" Militia pilots and region Navies will attack if you do not make moves quickly, resulting in inconveniences, especially in terms of reshipping and resupply.
While there is certainly nothing prohibiting you from swapping factions you suffer in other ways.
Not being able to establish Jump Clones, issues with Empire Navies, and more importantly your new Militia.......because if you are not well liked you will soon find yourself on the recieving end of the cold shoulder or half a dozen war decs.
In EVE its not so much the factions that do the regulating...... its the Militias. However in Dust If I know a player is actively fighting for both the Min and Amarr in the OP the worst I can do is ban him from a channel. If Miltia's existed and prevented players fighting for both militias engaged in the warzone at the same time, rewards existed for loyalty to keep players interested in staying in one Militia, and war decs existed I believe players could passably regulate their own militia's.
E.G - OP MUST sign up for one Militia at a time. He chooses Amarr. I see him 2 weeks later fighting for the Minmatar. I see him 2 weeks later fighting for us again our corp war deccs his and we actively engage, punish, and destroy his assets whenever and where ever possible.
He is not our ally, he is a WT waiting to happen.

No way to make it meaningful without a player market. You have to be able to get the other stuff. People aren't using 100% of their faction gear in Eve.
I think this is where we are mercenaries. Based on your corps standing you'd get access to tiered battles in FW space where Eve FW corps put up contracts. Not faction standings, but like a W/L standing. These would be like PC battles, hardcore.
Individuals would have faction standings like we have now and could choose to fight more for a faction based up gear they favored. We are mercenaries after all.

FW is not a place for that mercenary bull ****. I am not a mercenary, I do not sell my rifle for ISK.
You have Pubs and PC for your merc crap, FW is for loyalists.

i hate to break this to you True...
but PIE is nowhere near as active as Amarr123. Hell, I hardly ever get a pilot with OB support in there and I've been doing Amarr loyally for a while now. Go ahead and ban me from the channel if you want to start hating the player instead of hating the game.
I've been very loyal to the Amarr for a while now. But I've decided that Amarr does not offer a Dust merc enough of a reward for his loyalty. For example there are NO Scrambler Pistol variants in the Imperial store. The ONLY option for an Advanced ScP is the Burst which is horribad, and the only pro option is the Viziam. I don't often use the Viziam. I prefer the Carthum Assault and the TT-3 Assault. If they had that, I would strongly consider staying loyal to the Amarr.
First of all I won't even be fighting much for the Minmatar anyway. Just enough to "sabotage" them, if you will, for their Republic gear. Quite literally the only two things I will be buying are HMGs and Rep Tools. I'll have enough of those from a handful of winning matches to last me for a good while.
I'll be much more dependent on the Amarr for their proto heavy suits and their uplinks, because like the Amarr store, the Minmatar store is also lacking content, ie. the HMG variants.

Say, a slight bonus that would make the item more potent than the equivalent ISK version. For example: 5% bonus to accuracy or clip size or heat build up or ROF at levels 5, 8 and 10 for weapons 5% bonus to efficiency at levels 5, 8 and 10 for equipment 5% (?) bonus to dropsuit and vehicle base stats - might end up being a little OP though lol
Would be decent incentive for players striving to hit those extra levels.
It's just too bad that not all racial gear is in game...

Most of PIE Inc's core players are no longer active in Dust, most of the loyalists who we regularly played with are also no longer active in Dust. Were basically waiting on Legion to see if its worth committing resources to it.
But in terms of dependancy PIE Ground Control was very lenient when it came to players we only banned alliances and players who actively took a stance against the Amarr Empire..... you made several very concerning comments in our channels about your "loyalties".
I however would not call you loyal..... more an opportunist.
