Is it worth the money? I tend to run budget suits since Im mostly solo, in good games they work out just fine. 20% of the time on the losing end of a gunfight, Its just that last hit that takes me out. I can live with that since its only minimal loss.
Building a proto assault suit for when I feel like cautiously blowing money (if that just don't make sense), and wondering if its worth losing the 45k isk whenever the inevitable happens, or should I be a little sensible knowing that I can do just fine with at least a gek, or is the duvolle just that much meaner.
I budget my isk well but I'd hate to be so determined to take on "sometimes" the impossible that I forget I'm burning through way more than I'm gonna make back. |

I switched to proto at 300 mil ISK to burn through my money (and, of course, because I sork). I'm at 327 mil ISK. I'm doing something wrong. Duvolle does melt wetsuit-super-soldiers.
K/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Red line snipers and tankers hate it.

The times where you lost by one shot, chances are had you won due to a weapon that cost 2x as much you would've been so down on HP on your next engagement you would lose to a militia AR. You'd've had that extra kill though. Worth it?

If he kills quicker, they shoot shorter, he takes less damage. + Proto fits more HP anyways. The effect is not so marginal

The Duvolle does hit a little harder, but not enough to justify the cost. Unless you run proto gear and are rich. A advanced Gek 38 with proficiency 3 and sharpshooter 3 will tear up clones just as fast. Add on a damage mod, or two and it will really melt. I only use a standard Toxin AR with prof 3, Sharpshooter, reload, ammo all at 3. It is great for all occasion's.

kinda what I wanted to hear, I have prof to 4 and run complex mod usually run the gek the rare times I run around with adv suit. Kinda felt maybe I'd want to protect a proto suit with a proto weapon, and maybe luck out during the often occurrence of trying to rambo a group of 3 dudes alone instead of running like a smart sissy |

It's a good weapon, but it sounds like you need a corp bro. Find a corp where the members work with you, and you won't have so many handicap matches where you are on the latter end of a three on one?!

I know, but then again its a sense of accomplishment the rare game when you hit the top of the nooberboard by yourself. Or the times when you can communicate with a group of strangers with no comms, only digital stares, but figured out a way to co-operate together just for that one game and win. Kinda cool coming across random acts of comrade-ery. But, I agree I need to find a corp. |

Depends on what the rest of the suit is trying to do.
I honestly only use AR's on nova knife fits. You already need to be close for the knives so the ar is kinda your smg replacement. That said being close is usually suicidal so I rarely run proto AR.
When you're trying to use the AR as your main then you tend to run into problems because you let yourself engage at other peoples optimals trying to work your way in.
I just find it better to go for the knife and use the AR as much harder hitting sidearm than normal to deal with the couldnt quite get into knife range situations.

Hindsight being what it is, I wish I would've skilled into the combat rifle first, bare bones w no proficiency it has more power it seems than my maxed out AR. Without having tried duvolle yet. Guess I'll grind for more sp and work on CR. The six kin in republic store is pretty cheap for a proto weapon. Wont bother me as much to lose it. Oh well just picked up a few duvolle's if they don't turn me on then lesson learned. |

Meh, I use it about as much as I use my GEK to be honest, both with one damage mod. Though when I run a Duvolle, I only run the federation specialist. It's cheap to buy and cheap to fit which allows for more tank/gank I wouldn't otherwise have with the regular Duvolle.
However that tank bonus really isn't much. Whenever I run a CreoDron on my proto suit, all I do is switch out one of my complex shields for an advanced one and that makes up the difference required versus the specialist. You probably might also be able to squeeze an advanced sidearm in as well with the specialist, but I just use the basic ion pistol.
Gek when I'm just casually playing on my advanced assault.
Duvolle on my proto suit when I'm going hard. If you're gonna go hard, go hard all the way in my opinion, no reason to gimp yourself with less that what you could be fielding in a proto suit.

You can get the Duvolle Specialist Assault Rifle in the Gallente FW store. It's cheaper than the normal Duvolle and has the same fitting requirements as the GEK. I'm also trying RR, CR and AR on different suits now, and would say that the RR is the best rifle out of them because of the range and bonus to armor. It's not even that bad in CQC either.

GG guys Pretty much and as a Duvolle user since I started the game as an Assault and Logi class, it's worthless still versus other rifles. Even those who whine about SR, RR or CR being inferior at close range, everyone who really knows agrees that those are all still superior to a Duvolle.

someone recommended that earlier, I'm def gonna check it out. Guess i need to grind for some federation lp. Its really the only way to justify the cost of proto gear. Now is there ever games where its gal vs min and would it affect the standings between the two? |

Well my RR must have a defect cause I can't use that thing. Poss if I skilled into it higher it might be better but I do decent with gek, and if duvolle is a step up I'll buy it with LP. Still haven't used the few I paid 45k for, maybe I should, the money is already spent. |
