I'm a great LAV driver, but I also really suck at flying dropships. Why am I cursed with this? EDIT: I actually don't play sentinel. Only adv speed tanked min heavy :3 (GIF)

The first step is admittance. I laz0red and knifed a bunch of proto sentinels, and they tried to fly a dropship on me and kill me. They didn't survive. Granted I did lead them at a range after I fled and melted them instantly. EDIT: But they were scrubs so yeah. (GIF)

This is where you have gone completely wrong! You need to look at the correct applications for each vehicle: Dropships: The entire purpose of a dropship is to crash in a fiery ball of doom as soon as you grow bored with it and decide "Hey, that spot on the ground looks nice! I should go hack/kill/snipe there!" You simply hop out, activate your inertial dampener and land on the poor slobs you were intending to give a close-range Knife Greeting. We shall call it a "Celebratory Stabbing." Disclaimer: The management is not reaponsible for death and dismemberment claims resulting from attempted celebratory stabbings. Your Insurance policy does not cover battlefield theatrics. LAVs: LAVs are nicknamed Suicide sleds for a reason. Their entire function is to roll around the battlefield at idiotic speeds, driving over the occasional pedestrian and as a distraction when you jump out to engage that tank at Danger-Stupid ranges. If you're REALLY slick he won't realize you're not actually jumping into the turret until it's too late. I give the LAVs a rating of "Stupid fun." Disclaimer: If you find LAVs fun, you're probably stupid. Or suicidal. I'm both. ADS: As an ADS pilot your purpose in life is "Flying distraction." Due to the fact that every idiot and his brother will stop doing IMPORTANT THINGS (like the laundry, shooting at the red dots around them and getting laid) just for the opportunity to make you die in a ball of fire. Disclaimer: Yes, the neckbeards in DUST 514 will turn down sex just to smash your stupid ADS. HAVs: And last byt not least we have Tanks: The Fun Bus. They exist solely to provide the illusion of safety and invulnerability Survivability in a so-called "Party tank" seems to be more a function directly proportionate to how drunk/stoned you are. Sober people tend to explode more. But the Tanks provide the 420 crowda meaningful method of contributing to the battle while they toke and booze up. Disclaimer: Drinking and toking does not actually increase your survivability in tanks, it merely enhances the hilarity of your stupid errors. See? There you go. The Goon Guide to the proper mindset for driving vehicles. Once you have mastered this mindset and treat everything you own as an opportunity for hilarious loss you will find yourself getting good, or laughing and not giving a sh*t. Thank You.

I'm great with LAVs as well. Having them be a BPO for most of this games history didn't hurt. My HAV TC-ing, not so great. Brain wired to treat them like LAVs. I blame all of the current Dropship issues on my connection. The stupid things keep delayed over-correcting even with a light touch. Very frustrating. I have a lot of respect for Classic Logis. The LAV is the nearest thing to the stick-n-hustle tactical strength of a player on foot. You have SO much room to dash or strafe or two-step to turn the table on an opponent, even when he thinks he's got you on the ropes. But the bigger vehilces are "Passive" (darn good word, Hakyou!). If it weren't for the speedy-buff exploit they currently have, the only consistently successful HAV players would be the 'passive' operators. And you may see SO many dropships dancing in your matches, that they all look like their equally clumsy-lucky, but operating one consistenly well takes a lot of passive mind. I won't speak for HAVs, because the cool HAVers can give a better account than I could, but when a good DS player succeeds in a match, it's becasue she's already mapped out her game plan BEFORE she starts travelling on the map for folks to lock on her. She knows if she's got two good turret-gunners, and which one tonight is the quicker shot, right-gunner or left. Or she knows that she plans to use shield-booster if she gets swarmed this match,... or she has already decided she'll use the buildings as her only protection. She decides that she's gonna return all the way to the blue MCC any time she has to flee on THIS map, but on that OTHER map she's just gonna tuck behind the crater's ridge. Things like these she decides before she get's into any "active" events in the match. The very good players have decided ALL these things before the match starts. (We HAVE to, because we know that the vehicle doesn't give us the necessary agility to wait until we're under fire to decide what to do or where to move to). Yeah, Hakyou's word is perfect. "Passive" -minded gameplay. Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne... No story can have life without writers and publishers.

Brick tanking a scout suit since April 2013!

My brother is an awesome ADS pilot and a decent tanker. He plays a lot of vehicle games so...yeah. I like how you can hop around in the scout suit and knife people without a sweat. (GIF)

I've just never tried to fly a dropship. I can go in a straight line though. I usually play stealth games like MGS, which is why I like the scout suit so much. (GIF)
