Can anyone explain to me why the Six Kin Assault Combat Rifle is considered better than my BK-42 Assault Combat Rifle. I mean i know it's Prototype level versus Advanced level. However, I do not understand why.
Six Kin does not differ that much, in damage, and rpms. So to my eyes, it is not worth the investment. What makes this weapon supposedly so great ?

That little 'bit of difference adds up fast thanks to high fire rate. See Burst HMG.

Proto vs Adv is like that in all aspects.
The skills required for proto are still worth getting; no need to spend the extra money on the gun, however.

The Six Kin does 5% more damage, just like most other weapons. Take that as it is. |

its exponential growth. skilling up gives that extra percent along with opening up proficiency skills, and the improve stats that already are an improvement get compounded by the higher skills.
im not aware what the current stats are but when your at 1000-1200rpm it doesnt really matter what the damage is your gonna melt anything that gets in your way and thats why they were always the most op weapon even back pre rail rifle nerf. they had too much range with the stats the assault rifle should have had making the old ar defunct. at least that used to be the case.

Oh i see. I understand now.
Exponential growth and increase by 5% with the current weapon. This is crazy. I guess it is time to save up the SP. I was going to save up the SP to reduce the kick from that gun , but ok
Thanks guys.

Note that getting that high of RPM without a modded controller is hard. Many claim they can without the added of modded tech, but I personally cannot make my old man fingers click fast enough to get even close to that RPM. |

A 5% damage increase is a 5% damage increase. Rpm doesnt come into it. A proto rail rifle benefits just as much as a proto acr from that extra 5%. In both cases it still takes 5% fewer bullets to get the job done.
In fact, im actually using a proto rr but advanced scr at the moment because i really cant tell the difference between a bk-42 and sixkin but i find enemies often get away from my rr if its not kaalkiota, i guess due to the lower dps and longer engagement range when using rr vs acr.
To OP: weapon proficiency and operation are important but do not neglect your core skills. These are really what separates vets from newbs in SP terms. |

BK-42: (20HP per Bullet * 1200 RPM) / 60 = 400 DPS Six Kin: (21HP per Bullet * 1200 RPM) / 60 = 420 DPS
The Six Kin has a an extra 20 damage per second than the BK-42. Though as you can clearly see, the difference is neglibile and won't be needed unless facing extremely organized and good players.
This is the case with most weapons. The increase between ADV and PRO means that PRO isn't really justified unless you absolutely need it (see above).

Six kin is cooler, btw you need more then operation to use it so bonus on top of dat slight extra and add to the fact armor is the only to get alot hp which it gets 2 bonuses 4.

The semis shots do 50% more damage... To stop the mod controllers (actually cheaper then Sony ones) or mouse macros the RPM should be 2/3rds so that the damage is the same between types and it makes cheating/mods/macros a mute argument.
As it is I'm highly doubtful of some of the fits with a basic CR who are strafing , jumping, aiming and still pouring out close to optimal RPM are not using macros or auto mods. A percentage might but I have a feeling others like the idea of 50% extra damage at extra range by just plugging in a cheaper controller.
Of course no one in Dust would ever do that...
