We should have a new scanner variant that scans in 360 degrees and has high precision (but lower than the focused scanner). It scans to a range of 20-25ish meters. Here's the catch though; you have to constantly hold down the trigger for it to scan and can do so indefinitely. As soon as you release the trigger, all scanned targets immediately become unscanned. This means it requires teamwork to use effectively, as your scanner teammate will be fairly occupied and unable to run or perform other tasks while scanning. This would be an effective tool for covering objectives from cloakers, but also limited in many other respects.
Cloaky scouts can still get under the precision with maxed skills and a heavily dampened fit, but they will be much easier to deal with given their fitting compromises.
Thoughts?
Best PvE idea ever!

Much easier to just run a scout suit. You get the same effect except you can also kill the scanned targets :)

Good point. Although if they change the squad passive scanning mechanics this would be more relevant. Also it would give an additional tool for logistics.

no thank you. maybe a constant use scanner would be good, but having all those attributes would still be OP.

Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity, how is this OP but a scout sharing passive scans (and still able to perform other tasks) not OP?

You sir are a **** and I want you to know that . I think its a valid idea that could help other non-anorexic skinny puny tiny piece of **** scouts ( commandos) stay aware of their immediate surroundings even if they cant see due to physical obstructions such as walls.
