Can someone please explain the logic of the salvage randomizer? I seriously hope a CCP Dev reads this.
I would like to know why it RARELY gives me weapons/equip I actually use and keeps giving me crap I will NEVER use? For instance, and yes this is all from salvage...
81 CBR-112 Specialist Swarm Launchers. Not sure if I will go past level 1 in Swarm Launcher skill.
87 EXO-5 Mass Drivers. I WILL NEVER SKILL INTO MASS DRIVERS. I deem them weapons for the lowest order of coward and unskilled scum. You don't have to hit your target, just get kind of close.
87 KR-17 Breach Shotguns.
63 Creodron Shotguns. I MIGHT actually use both of these.
107 M209 Assault SMGs
78 Ishukone Assault SMGs
47 Cala's MK-38 SMGs Again, I MIGHT use these. But, doubtful as these are CPU/PG prohibitive. And I have the 'Toxin' ICD-9 SMG.
172 IA5 Tactical Scrambler Pistols
51 Carthum Assault Scrambler Pistols
90 Wolfman's PCP-30 Scrambler Pistols Again, I MIGHT use these. But, as with the SMGs they take up more CPU/PG than they are useful.
122 9K330 Forge Guns
1 Ishukone Assault Forge Gun
19 Gastun's BRN-50 Forge Guns Now these, I WILL NEVER USE. I WILL NEVER SKILL INTO HEAVY DROPSUITS. EVER!!
93 MH-82 HMGs
57 Gastun's MIN-7 HMGs. Again, I WILL NEVER USE THESE.
Now, in contrast to the weapons I actually use. And this is the crux, and yes, I know I "use" these, so I will have fewer.
65 Creodron Breach Assault Rifles (some, I have purchased. about 25-30.)
22 Balac's GAR-21 Assault Rifles
15 Krin's SIN-11 Assault Rifles Can't even remember the last time I got any of either of these in salvage. Where as in the last week I acquired 6 of the Gastun's Forge Guns.
30 C27-N Specialist Sniper Rifle use rarely cause I have a large supply of Charged Sniper Rifle, which is actually my second choice in sniper rifles, Thales being my preferred sniper rifle of choice. Of which I only have 1. Which I RARELY EVER get in salvage.
Now, the point I am trying to make is salvage being what is. Spoils acquired after a battle.
Wouldn't it make MORE sense that a person would pick the salvage that they would most likely use?
And as a second and also equally important and relevant point. If there was a reason to take gear you are not going to or unable to use, would be to sell/trade, said unusable gear? Which brings up my second salient point.
Why is there no inter-player market/trading post? One would think that in this advanced civilization, there would be a network of inter-player trading. Especially, among a subculture of mercenary clones. Or at least a way to sell unwanted/unusable gear.
I am sure, I would almost hazard saying, I am positive about this statement. That if you, the CCP Devs, if any are reading this, that is, were to take a poll/survey asking us, the players, if we would like a inter-player market/trading post. You will find the response will probably be an overwhelming and resounding "YES"!
Just a thought/idea to ponder, think on.
