Cant get on DUST yet it shows 43,000 people at the log in screen. Whats the deal?

Eve offline.com shows 982 of them are Dust.

And where is the dev post explaining why we cant get online? Its just dust? Not eve? Not the forums?

I understand all that, but I am on PSN, and DUST not PSN is refusing my connection to Tranquility, while eve players, and forum users and SOME Dust players are connecting. So thats dust not psn, where are the devs explaining why I can not connect?

The 982 you see online are most likely in other PSN regions.
(Only 982 players logged in outside of NA sounds about right)
Just my uneducated guess.
I came to the same conclusion, what I want to know is why and when. If im in psn and dust isnt being attacked I should be able to connect. Yet they are silent. I wonder if I could get there attention with 20 posts about how they sucked Naaazzzzziiiiiiiii swipe in the 40s when they rolled over..... Or something really really racist might work. It usually does.
