I recently read some ADS topics and it worries me that in each of them someone comes to conclusion that SL need to be boost, completely ignoring that it will also have an impact on other vehicles. It would be much more easy to balance AV weapon if it would be only against one or two vehicles - like equipment AV.
So could we have Swarms that 'lock' only flying vehicles? Missiles could have extended time of fly or speed, they also could deal different damage..
Ideas?

No.
The only defense ADSs have against swarms is speed. The hp buffer is only to survive the first or second hit we rarely see or hear coming; you're not going to survive for long without an AB no matter what.
I use ADSs and swarms (though I only have swarms to 3). Even still, I find that I am able to deter with and am often driven off by even a single swarm launcher. Get it out of your head that just because you are a single AVer you should have the right to kill every vehicle in every engagement.
AV should be area of denial, where everything within its range should be threatened if it's not dealt with or evaded immediately. If you want to kill a vehicle, either get it in a situation it can't escape from or use teamwork. |

Look, because I think you not understand, speed boost on missile means that you as ADS pilot will see less 'missile is flying to me' effect, and time that missile need to beat from point A to point B is shorter. It's mean that if pilot is not enough cautious he will be surprised. So if you "rarely see or hear coming" attack from AV, it should not be a problem for you, right? I'm reading what you have write and it do not have sens..
Many time I've seen ADS pilots that took first AV strike, and it was clear to everyone that if he stay here he will not survive, then he get second strike, start beeping and burn and when everyone is absolutely sure he will die and are focused one reloading he turn on AB and running with 4% of armor like nothing happen. Later on come back with full HP and kill everyone that was attacking him.

You probably miss it so I will point it specially for you: "Could we have new version of Swarms that works only on flying vehicle?", "It would be much more easy to balance AV weapon if it would be only against one or two vehicles - like equipment AV.", "So could we have Swarms that 'lock' only flying vehicles?".

I'm absolutely sure that tanks need team work to be dealt with. I was never complaining about DS EHP, always seemed to me that the only thing they need is better scanner so they know position of ground or/and aerial vehicles on battlefield, so they know where are dangers zones for them. Instead ADS some how became flying HAV and completely unnecessary..
Back to topick, I want weapon that works only on flying vehicles and it deal slightly more damage to it.

Why swarms even lock is beyond me?
Just make them dumbifre with little to no splash damage or radius. (To prevent abuse against infantry)

(To prevent abuse against infantry) They have locking system partially because EVE, and CCP believes in console players ability to shoot someone with dumbifre . They should be like that BF weapon that need to be lead by laser aim-cross, I do not remember their name right now.

Dropships are indeed least vulnerable to swarms, but other vehicles aren't particularly weak against them. For example, at Proficiency 5 with 2 complex damage amps, I need an entire clip (3 volleys) of proto swarms to pop a basic LAV.
Call me crazy, but I think 2 volleys should suffice to part a fatty with his murder taxi.

I agree, AV should scare vehicles off not destroy them when they are solo, but a python has no trouble against infantry, just pop a hardener and take your time killing the AV.
Why must you use prototypes?

Don't you agree? I would but you're wrong.
It takes an ADV SL and an advanced damage mod to two-shot an unfitted Saga (every BPO), which is most typical LAVs.
It takes 3 shots of the above kills my best fitted Methana (adv 60mm plate and adv other rep).
So yeah, no. |

This would be a nice idea seeing as how ground vehicles have far more deterrents than air and the abilities to kill ground force vehicles far outweigh air vehicles .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.
