If legion ever becomes a full thing, at the rate it currently is being worked on compared to how long dust took, can I get an estimate of when legion would come out and when dust will go bye bye. I know I can't get a perfect answer but I'd like to know about how long dust will last. I'll geuss 2-3 years bit idk

I would say right around the end of 2015 the start of 2016. My guess is they will drop legion and valk close to give SC (if that monstrosity ever comes out) a nice kick.
It *could* come out sooner, and the advantage CCP has this time over when they made Dust is they have a lot of code they could just tweek and the already have the engine they want ready to go. It could make development go faster, however, after playing eve for 10 years and being a semi happy ccp customer, they have this tendency to scrap what they are doing 1/2 way through and start over to try and reinvent the wheel. I honestly hope they learned form the mistakes of WoD |

The positive side about this whole Dust situation is that now CCP finally has some experience in making a first-person shooter. A half-finished FPS indeed, but they have experience none the less. Not only that, they're finally continuing the experience in a platform that they have massive experience on already: the PC. At least in this situation CCP no longer has to rely on a middle man like Sony and can manage server stability better for the game as a result. Not sure how this helps with lag, but at least the connection to the server won't be as wonky as Dust's.
