I don't get it, why do I get high latency issues when I have such an high speed connection? Equipment/vehicle spam dosn't seem to make any difference (I've seen at least >50 pieces of equipment in a round >8 vehicles and no lag) , but suddenly right off the bat some rounds everyone just dub steps like crazy.

Yes this is happening to me very often also and it's getting extremely annoying.

It is annoying.
I have fast ass internet as well and lag on some servers but not others. The American server lags me like hell. I can play on the Asian server better than I can the American. This makes absolutely no sense considering I live 200 miles from the server in Georgia. It's all about the host. Spend your money on a cheap server and you get cheap results.

You should also check the quality of your line. Lag may also be a product of packet loss.

It's been tested that dust 514 doesn't need more than a 750kb up/down speed to play and run effectively, speed in any online game doesn't effect lag as long as it's above 1mb up/down. Ping is what matters, 1-100 ping is preferred. Then again, there's nothing you can do if other players have a bad connection, or if the severs are having problems. On a side note, dust uses so little data that I was able to play with no lag using a throttled t mobile phone as a hotspot. THE MORE YOU KNOW!

It's $60 ... 1 gb is $100 (Google fiber) and my ping is at 3ms
Although last time I got extrem dubstep action it was against pure evil. Just sayin
