Much like the Caldari prime event, but revolving more around dust mercs. A large scale battle that takes place over like a month long period! Where squads can choose to deploy into those battles to help turn the tide for one side or the other. Plenty of useful salvage, and extra SP! I know you say legion is what's next CCP, but until we actually get there dust is still here, and so are the players! Can we get some epic ass kicking going on?

I always said (past tense, since it's ov-air) that they could have simulated a effect by just picking some point in FW or whatever (which, of course requires equipment parity (ha ha!)) wherein an EvE ship blows up with enough DUST losses. Critical loss occurs, number shoots over EvE-side, ship blows up. Critical win occurs, number shoots over to EvE-side, ISK rains down on some lucky soul.
K/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Red line snipers and tankers hate it.

It'd never happen.
Nobody cares about DUST enough to set up an event like that for it. The Caldari Prime event had the stage set for it literally years in advance and had a vast amount of lore surrounding it, as well as a load of technical preparation. It'd require CCP to actually give DUST resources and manpower.
If it were done, though, it'd have to be done a lot better than last time. Last time it was half-assed at best. If it were to happen again, a couple of things would have to be a part of it:
1. The ability to actually choose a side. Why this wasn't a part of the Caldari Prime event boggles the mind, it's blatantly obvious that it's necessary. 2. The ability to actually have the outcome of game events influence the story events. The last one was pre-determined. If people who genuinely cared got together and fought a lot for their chosen side, it would be rubbish if none of that mattered and the outcome was the same regardless of game events.
Also, it'd be nice if it was an Amarr vs Minmatar event. There's an awful lot of focus on the Gallente/Caldari side of things.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.
