I saw someone, i will not name, who suicided more than 40 times in public match, he made our team lose, cutting almost 1/3 of our clones reserves. I don't want to make an a case of state for a public match but, is it funny?
I know CCP somewhat appreciate griefing and awoxing, but it happens in controlled enviroments like PC, where team leader can punish such behaviors or if it happens, it's the fault of the corp directors to invite people who are not trust worthy.
CCP, griefing it's not emergent gameplay, you should punish such behaviors, you should set limits, because certain actions can be funny for someone but are totally anti fun for another.
I like good and even fights, but that is a matchmaking issue, what i don't like are anti fun behaviors, which you usually put under the label of game mechanics.

Any form of 'emergent gameplay' that could be constituted as 'griefing' should have some way to deal with it.
If there's a way to deal with it, then it's fine for people to try and abuse it and it's cool if they succeed, because that's something that might actually be worth talking about and that potentially adds to the game.
If there's nothing you can do about it whatsoever (in the manner of this suicidal behaviour) then it only detracts from the game.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Lol Good luck with getting CCP to care. They allow not only griefing but sexual harrassment as well as cyber bullying. They even allow people to criminally threaten each other without a person having to worry about getting banned for it. Hell even CCP Griefs their own players base when they play the game (as well as each other on Eve). Its a known fact by many that CCP just doesnt care about this game anymore. At least not enough to do something about these players that are clearly breaking not only the EULA/TOS but certain laws in countries as well. |

I know who you are talking about..... Dude was in like 8-9 matches doing that dumbshit. CCP needs to add an auto kick for idiots that suicide more than 5 times in a match.

My guess is the guy was an afker that was constantly killed by team mates for AFKing so he decided to just start committing suicide. Or he could have just very well been afking by moving around in a circle like some do and very well could have been falling out of the ship each and every time. I have seen it happen just not 80 times in one match so my guess would be either A) Your right and the douche was doing it purposely or B) he was doing a wide circle run that would cause him to fall out of the MCC every time he spawned when afking. Either way its a nuisance and people who are afking should have a little more respect for the people that want to play and at least use a swarm (or repair tool) and run the text chat glitch so that you are afking without hindering the match anymore than necessary. |

Nah, he was hitting the suicide button. It kept saying he commited suicide rather than fell and died.

I never saw him suicide 80 times. The most I saw was 46, but still annoying. He had to be all upset about something.

I'm going to love when we get cyber bullying laws enacted here in America. Companies like CCP, though foreign will be prosecutable through their U.S. offices. Also, the Mittanies of the world will get more than their liquor spilt. I can't wait and will be right there in the front row to enjoy the fallout.

Just curious was the guy in a minmitar frontline suit? If so, I saw that guy in a match, despite his best efforts we still stomped the other team though. If not, then there's more than one guy running around doing this. I must admit months ago I did the same however I was trying to see if I could turn frontline suits into human torpedos. I only did it like 5 times in one match before I figured out it doesn't work. Blew up right in another frontline suits face and he only took like 40 damage. It doesn't work though, if the grenade is in your hand then you pretty much absorb the whole thing. I also wanted to do it so I could organize a dropship bombing squad but sadly once your body hits free fall you can't arm grenades. You can still cook and throw at the last moment but that doesn't work so well these days with how ****** damage is on locus grenades, better off just mass driver spamming.
On topic though, the game should just automatically boot a player if they suicide too many times in a certain time frame. Much how the game boots you if you don't spawn in or if you stand still for too long. But the game should also stop letting players get revived without consent which was on Rattatai's charlie list but he scratched it off. I'm hoping that's because it had to get pushed to Delta and not because he gave up on it. |
