Their main use follows their suit bonus....
Min Logi = repper
Cal Logi = hives
Gal Logi = scanning
Am Logi = uplinks
But you asked what is best for "overall" support. I would probably say Min Logi, as heavy hugging is generally the most effective use of a logi, IMO. |

amaar logi is useless as uplinks lose their buff when you die or switch suits, same with caldari logi and the nanohives.
there are only 2 viable logis in the gal and minmatar, and it depends on your squad composition wich one you want to bring

Caldari
Pro- They can bring boosted nanohives. Shield tank.
Con- Flux will kill them easily. Nanohives lose bonus if you switch out of Cal Logi and/or die.
Amarr
Pro- Uplinks bonus and sidearm. Armor tank.
Con- Restricted PG & CPU and slowest logi. Switching out/death means uplink bonus gone.
Gallente
Pro- Best Active Scanner. Durable armor tank. 4 equipment slots at Proto.
Con- A little sluggish in movement.
Minmatar (Winmatar)
Pro- Super Reps. Keeps the team alive. Fastest logi. Dual tank. 4 equipment slots at Proto.
Con- Squishy? (Debatable. I find that movement speed can be survivability in some cases. So I look at movement speed as invisible HP sometimes.)

MInmitar, IMO, is the best. It gives a bonus to the range and repair rate of the rep tool. It's very good at keeping your team alive, it's fast, and you can dual tank if you want to. It's a versatile and does it's job well.
If you're not gallente, or minmitar, you're missing out.
Only loyal to the republic.

I prefer the Minmatar logi for support work, myself. Of all the bonuses, the rep tool one is the most useful to me. Active scanners aren't up to snuff anymore, the Amarr links bonus breaks ridiculously easily, and I really don't need more ammo once I'm using proto hives.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.
