I must suggest to anyone new to the game to join a corp! I know it can be a difficult to make a choice of corp, but running around solo, not knowing whether your team is still fighting or not is suicide?! Joining a corp gives you a plethora of team mates to work instead of dying repeatedly. Try different corps to see if there play style compliments yours. Every corp runs differently , but be patient and you will find a place to fight.
1. Have something to offer the team. Whatever you run try specializing! Get in with the other guys who compliment you.
2. Learn the lingo. Communicate your position, if you're carrying ammo, scanner, or uplinks, and wait. Any half decent squad lead can work with that info.
3. Don't be a douche! Players in dust are generally mature, and intelligent. Save the witty dumb remarks for your friends at school.
I think if you tried these basics you will find somewhere you don't mind fighting. o7

look at the leaderboards and apply to the top corps done now u have good corp

This. Joining a corp is the easiest ways to ramp up the fun factor of dust514.
Not only are your older corp mates more able to impart knowledge to you about dusts nuances (like clipping a reload/chucking a nade/aiming a swarm launcher behind you after locking on so that your 1st and 2nd volley arrive at the same time/or 'pocketing' grenades/etc) but playing with friends and building a community is the reason why people continue playing games long after their shelf life has come and gone.
