I have been following the diskussion about SL changes. Some things needs to be concidered as important. 1: how can dropships outrun missiles? 2: If a nerf of dmg and missile count you should increase velocity. 3. Dercrese manuverability for missiles combined with above mentioned would reward skilled pilots and make flying into hotzones more of a challange.

You do know the less missiles it fires the faster the firing animation is? Which means you get your next volley off sooner and you seem to forget that MLT,STD and ADV swarms got a damage buff. The Proto swarm nerf is very minor and can be outweighted with damage mods (when you go AV you should use em).
They say when you die you see a white light which then forms the line of:

You do realise that an afterburner is the only counter to swarms right... if you increase velocity of missiles... Well actually it wont make any difference will it, nothing without an afterburner can outrun the swarms now anyway, lol... But without a counter to swarms, what's the ******* point.
You can have your increased missile speed, when they fix the missiles so that they actually fly into objects between my ship and the launcher. |

Ok, yes i knop this. But still, velocity is an issue, don't you agree? |

But Judge Rhadamantus says it is all fine with swarms... since he is a dropship pilot I don't see any problem here
The best is yet to come

You can have your increased missile speed, when they fix the missiles so that they actually fly into objects between my ship and the launcher. I have to disagree for dropships to out in missiles nearly every time is a bit imbalanced all that a dropship or vehicle in general has to do is get out of its optimal range and the fired missiles have a timer
Increasing the speed would make it more difficult than putting on afterburners and flying off. Which would require more skill
(Not that your not already great at it derp)

No. ADS with afterburner should outrun swarms. Because they fly for insane distance after fired.

Most of the time I don't even run afterburners, but no one thinks of the dropships without them, at the moment unless you're moving full throttle in one direction a swarmer will hit you with everything it has... Which means you've got no chance unless you've tanked your ship out... Meaning you might as well fit an afterburner because you're not getting anything else done.
Don't forget we can't even see the swarms most of the time, no idea where it's coming from unless you're staring at the guy from 50 meters or so and catch a glimps of the little flash coming out of the guys arm.
If anything, we should remove afterburners & slow the missiles even more. |

Yes, i think and increase in the time missiles last could be interesting. Speed stays the same. Would require more evasive skill from pilots. Or increased lock-on range. |

1.AB or its already moving at top speed anyways 2. SL got a buff recently 3. Yea im sick of missiles stopping doing a 180turn on the spot then go back to full speed or pulling a 270deg turn around cover |

I run an incubus with an armour plate, repper and shield booster. No afterburner I can still outrun swarms launched at me from 50m away with relative ease.
At worst I can cause them to stagger before they hit allowing my armour to rep through and narrowly survive a volley that should've killed me. At best I can hear the explode behind me, doing absolutely no damage.
WITHOUT an Afterburner, The afterburner is not designed to allow you to outrun AV attempts, it is too allow you to retreat when a retreat is required.
Swarms most definitely need a tracking nerf, I can't count the amount of times I have successfully dodged a volley only for them to suddenly whip around in a space smaller than a LAV and get me in my weakspot, you are actually more survivable if you just take the first 3 shots in the face and then run.
But to take the turning circle off the swarm launchers without giving something in return is both unbalanced and unfair. Activating your afterburner and flying directly towards your redline requires no skill, and is as such the perfect thing to loose in return.
Let's bring some skill to dropships!
They call me the Monkey - I like to jump off sh** and piss RE's all over your tank!
