Your range is only 15 meters. You sure you don't see them that close? |

two things.
1) If you're outside any surface installation the ground is a static mesh, passive scans do not see through that. so if you were within 15m of each other but on oposite sides of a small hill they will not appear.
2) they were outside 15m. 15m is a lot shorter because the scaling of game has dropsuits around 2.5m tall where the average person is like 1.75m tall. 15m is visually closer to what 10 yards would be
Math is easy, you're just stupid.

I was on the ground and they were on an external corridor with view on beta in the beta charly alpha map that has the great spire on beta. In any cases a meter above ground and maybe the small ramps that give cover made them hidden, been playing for 2 years never realized it makes you invisible...strange cause with the scout my passive see through walls with complex range modules... |

Im pretty sure #1 is false, but I can't confirm say that I can confirm this. As a Cal scout I can't recall not being able to scan people through hills or anything like that. |

lol @ ewar on assault suits. 15m scan range is laughable cause you are inside the optimal range of a HMG which you should AVOID. If you want to see people further away use a active scanner or spec into scouts.

15m is an accurate measurement.
10 yards is a pile of crap measurement.
Please try to use much more accurate measurements please.
1 yards doesn't even make a metre.
Go figure.
So tongue in cheek that my tongue is in your mouth.

Gelhad Thremyr wrote:In amar assault all skills maxed and no heavy is showing up... Generally speaking you're dead before a heavy shows up on your assault passive scans. The range is only 15m with Range Amplification level 5, with the lag that means that if one of you is moving it will be less than 10m before anything shows up, which probably means you're already looking down their multiple barrels. Use your eyes or go back to your scout (or even a logi, which has longer scan range than an assault). |

Are you trying to tell me scouts DON'T see through walls? I call BS.
Or is it just related to terrain and elevation?

The scouts I Flaylocked that tried to sneak up on me while I was sniping on a hill, would agree that this statment is 100% false. I wasn't even running precision enhancers, & I saw both scouts approaching up the hill on my Tacnet. My Ewar Gal scout can easily spot all but stacked dampened scouts within 50m, regardless on elevation or terrain.

Considering that a yard isn't quite a metre....inaccurate Please try to use much more accurate measurements please. 1 yards doesn't even make a metre. Go figure. We could do just fine without yards, but not metres. Yards are silly measurements that should not be taken seriously. It ius an inefficient number. "Oh, its about a yard" Well a yard 'is about' a metre so wtf, how much more random could it get. Tldr. yards are silly. Metres>yards.
Quit being a git. He said it LOOKS like 10 yards because of scaling because yer basically playing a 9-foot (2.5 meter tall) Space Marine. This skews the perspective in the first person view.
At no point did he say 10 yards = 15m. Reading comprehension. Get some. |

Active scanners dont suffer this limitation. I can ambush scouts from the opposite side of a hill when I have a squadmate tell me where they are. They tend to react after I,m already rolling my fat ass down the hill. |

Doesn't matter if you get someone to use a capture card showing it doesn't work, some people will hold an idea in their head that you con't get them to drop regardless of staggering amount of evidence against them.
