Ok... I am an unknown heavy, probably average in skill if not below. Been playing since August 6th though the toon itself is a few weeks younger than that. SO....
I am finding myself constantly destroyed by scouts. Nova knife to combat rifle to shotgun. I got no counter as a heavy, now I aint complaining, its just me personally who is at fault. I KNOW there is a way to counter them and for the past year I have fought tooth and claw for the skill I possess today.
I fought in a basic heavy against proto through killer LAV era... then I survived the tank era and now I am struggling to survive the Scout era. It seems Scouts to me, in my personal opinion now rule the battle field... With me unable to adapt. So I am swallowing my pride as a man who struggles to learn on his own to ask for help...
Call me a scrub or whatever, but can ya do it in PM's? I want to be a strong heavy, one who is an asset on the battlefield and with the days of the scout dawning on me... I realize I wont be able to survive this. So now I ask for help.
Any tips, anything at all would be helpful.

Recommend sticking with friendlies at all times. As an unsupported heavy you represent an easy +50 for a decent scout. If you're in a pack of blue dots, though, it's suicide for a scout to try and engage you.
Getting a scanning scout in your squad can be especially helpful - a well-equipped friendly scanner can light up all those scouts for you and you'll be able to see them well before they're in range to knife or shotgun you.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I stack Myofibs to deal with the shotgun and nova knife scouts jumping me.... it helps a lot but certainly not all the time because they see your every moment and you cant see them (broken game mechanic in my opinion, should never be in any game ever )

Salutations, Grom Dright. I am an advnaced player. I won't comfortably call myself "vet" yet, but I think I can properly describe player-activity without sounding too much like a prude who has a gripe against persons who've found a niche in the gameplay:
Grom, you're being plagued by roaming assasins in "scout" suits, much more than you're being outmatched by true Scout players. They are little imps, God Bless 'em. They carry Knives or Shotguns as their main weapon because these allow them a quick kill along with the fantasy of being a Ninja or Contract-hitman, followed by the giddy hop-away like bugs bunny exit, or occassional cloak-out exit.
Sometimes a Scout will perform this kind of kill because you're standing between her and an important Hack she came to accomplish (that's a Scout's job). But if you got killed simply walking or standing, when there was not useful objective nearby or no Null or CRU you were hacking at the time..... yep, it was another roaming imp. A valid player, yes... NOT a Scout.
A good Scout will likely kill you whenever you're interferring in her objective----there's little defense the first time....when you return to the same area, you're more suspicious, so the Scout's odds are a bit worse.
The advice given by Arkana is the onw I endorse as top-rate for dealing with "imps" Any time you see some blue buddies collected together, go and stay with that flock. A good imp can always be foiled by not letting him catch you on your own as a heavy. He's not a scout, not good at infiltrating a group like some scout-players are able to. Stay with the flock, and the imp will enjoy himself finding some other loner to "ninja kill" and giggle at.
Stick close to the rest of us, Grom. Most of us (MOST) are here to win matches and slay soldiers,... not to try swatting mosquitos.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

As a noob player who started as a logi and went scout after a couple of months. As a min scout who hacks and slashes I pick my fights. I roam around the fringes of the blue blob and like a lion will pick off stragglers.
If you stay central, have a logi support and spin occasionally you will be a lot harder to pick off. Look after your logi and watch out for REs.
If I'm going against a blob I will put a RE on the corner, come around engage the logi and if it heats up retreat. If you give chase expect 1500 damage. So as a heavy don't go tight on corners check your six and surroundings (floor, wall & ceiling) for REs.
Most heavies will chew me up if they are situational aware. Remember you can turn and look behind you as quick as a scout, use it.
