Why do we even have it? CCP you know you'll sell more boosters if you just got rid of it whats the point for it anymore anyways. It just limits the blubs after you pass so much sp you can do whatever you want ,but i guess limiting the noobs to bding protostomped is better. I tell you you would sell more and higher level boosters if you just got rid of the cap.
Why?

cause once bonus sp is gone the normal sp feels really low.. and ******.. and it can be maybe less then 1300 a round most times
for these reasons people have alts.

People are hooked on SP.
Lose the weekly cap in favour of, say, a rolling cap, and people will no longer be afraid to take a break from the game.
And if people take a break from the game, they stand a chance of kicking the habit.
Destiny won't kill Dust.
CCP already did that.

Anyone could no life Dust for a while and grind up an amazing character through very shady methods. You'd see an influx of fake accounts where people will be finding ways to easily farm with little to no effort of actually playing
Example: Take away cap and I'll AFK farm a lot more often, grinding my way to Proto small turrets :3
So, it was more really a concern of neck beards vs casuals. Neck beards would completely eliminate the casual with no cap, lol.

With ISK density being as high as it is in Vet groups people will need a way to catch up. Take away the limit and let people grind there way to there first proto set how they please, it would help bring numbers to PC if more people could rush there way into it.
But the real problem is CCP lied to us, again. A year ago in January CCP asked about the SP system and what should be done - it was decided by a land-slide that a roll-over system would work best. Your SP would continue to stack each week as you miss the cap to create a ceiling cap instead. Example: You had 100k SP left over this week, but next week started, your cap is now 100k higher this week. And the SP still left un-earned for the week will continue to progress to the next week for you to earn.
This removes neck beards from pushing too far a head, and casuals can grind and grind till there hearts content to catch up.
CCP said they would do this.
It's been a year and a half, not even a single WORD about it.

The second you let marketing start dictating game design, is the second your game is totally ******.

Oh way back when.. I played roughly 500 extra matches on my main with the cap being reached, Each week for 8 months if I had been allowed to grind continuously I may very well have all the sp I would ever need to have anything. I had no life and was a constant presence in dust. Now that I casually play it would hurt me greatly to not have a cap.

At this point in the game's life a cap serves no purpose. Let the newer players experience some of the seemingly out of reach aspects of DUST. Let some of the burnt out vets find something new to have fun with. Maybe they'll both stick around a bit longer. |

Except it really does. If character progression goes over to Legion, do you really want a bunch of hyper inflated SP pool players dominating every new player that comes into the new game? It's bad enough as it is in Dust, why would you want to start by making it even worse in Legion? |

Why should we suffer for a game that we won't play or is even on our platform?

While I agree there does need to be a cap in place (I'd like a rollover system with decay), Legion will have to deal with having wide SP differentials. They need to design it to handle high and low SP players on the same server from day 1 anyways. For sake of argument, let's say there was a blank slate at launch and no SP carried over from DUST. After a year or two, you'd be in the same situation anyways. So the game needs to be designed to accommodate integrating new and experienced players at a fundamental level.
This is a bit off topic, but I don't think making matches based on gear is a particularly good solution either.
Best PvE idea ever!

Because you're asking to break existing mechanics just to benefit yourself without thought for the future.
It's the same mentality as someone saying "Well I don't care if we pollute the planet, my kids will have to deal with it but it's not my problem. The future isn't now." |

That's exactly why it wouldn't.

CCP already did that.
