Hi guys,
Long eve-player, I tried dust these days.
Now I have 2 questions that really bother me, cause I feel, that cannot be "working as intended" or I really do something wrong:
1st: Long ago I made a Minmatar Character, which has in the meantime 5m SP. Can I change faction for factional Warfare like in Eve or am I stuck with Minmatar Items from FW? I mean I skilled into Amarr and Gallente suits, so it also would make sense to fight for their factions
2nd: Bonus SP. I played for a week or so and made about 6-8k SP per round. No Idea if this is good or bad (bad I guess, cause I-¦m a noob), but fine for me. After a few days I just got like 800 SP per round with the message there, that I have no more bonus SP. To be honest, this is so few that I stopped playing, cause it-¦s faster for me to wait for XP that come automatically,. Is this intended? I mean, I understand that they limit it, but I didn-¦t play 24/7 and after a few days I get so few SP that I feel they DONT want me to play their game?
But maybe as I said, Im doing something wrong here. Btw. i always plaed solo without random squads.
ps: how much SP are you making a round?
Thx for your help! Zores |

1) you can play for any faction that you want in FW.
2) there is a weekly active SP cap of 190,000. once you reach that you are limited to 1000 SP per match. |

1: You can fight for whatever faction you like in FW, you're not locked into any particular faction.
2: This is known as the 'SP cap'. The idea is that you can only earn so much active SP in a week and once that's exhausted the rate of SP gain is pretty drastically reduced. You still get passive SP at the same rate but active SP comes at a rate equal to your WP in a match (up to a limit of 1000, so past 1000 WP you don't earn any more SP in a match).
Until the cap is reached you earn SP in matches at a rate of 5 SP per second plus your WP for the match, with no cap on individual matches. The cap refreshes every Wednesday downtime IIRC, and you get I think 190k a week allowance. It doesn't add up, so if you miss out on 50k one week you don't have 240k the next.
It's a pretty stupid mechanic, but there's nothing you can do about it.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Hi,
You can fight for any faction you wish in FW but your starter fits will always be racial.
There is a weekly cap for SP, I think its like 350-400k per week and resets after DT on Tuesday. After you hit the cap you can only earn a max of 1000 sp per game. Sp earned before cap is based on your performance in the battle which is based on total WP acquired.

It's a pretty stupid mechanic, but there's nothing you can do about it. You know if they got rid of the cap more people would use boosters. Like me because i dont want to use a 7 day boosger when it will only benefut me for (hardcore playing) 2 days.

This is why the 3 day active is best if you cap over the weekend. Don't bother using the other boosters.

Thx for your help! Zores 1. faction means nothing.. you can fight for whoever and wear which ever races gear(SP required ofc) 2. bonus sp is 190,000 a week resets on wednesdays. bonus sp is like x1.5 from your bonus pool ontop of the SP you earned in the match.. ACTIVE boosters also give 1.5x extra sp from your pool and gained sp. basically.. make an alt account(so that alt gets passive SP too) and use that one when your mains bonus SP runs dry. o7

This is really no different from EVE. EVE is 100% passive SP so your max SP for a given period of time is finite. Dust simply makes part of that same cap active with a max amount per week, with your passive SP gain still ticking all the while. The only difference between Dust an EVE in this regard, is that you need to actually play Dust to get all of the SP for the week, unlike EVE where you get 100% of it regardless of how much you play |
